This is church and its people are wonderful, Spirit-filled. You can feel the power of the Holy Spirit in this church. Down through the years, whenever I've gone to this church, that has been true. This church has a neon sign "Jesus, Light of the World." It has been shining the light of Jesus Christ ever since it began.

It was years ago when my young husband and I held a revival at this church. It was back in 1977 and the pastor at the time was John Tanberg. Although we went to try and be a blessing, this church and it's wonderful people ended up blessing us more than we could ever have blessed them. They were so kind, loving and giving that I cried and cried upon leaving because I didn't want to go. It was the only church that I ever visited then and ever since that effected me in this way.
During the coarse of our stay, they not only provided our food and lodging, which is the norm, but also paid to have expensive dental work done for my husband, and during a young married group one night, at Bro. Ray's house, they found out how amazed I was that "everyone" seemed to write songs. (It was a campfire-type setting and a couple of them had brought thier guitars and we were all singing.) Right at that moment, he said, "Oh, do you want to write songs, Sis. Saxton? I replied, "Yes, I would love to. I think it's such a beautiful gifting." He said, " Well, let's just all lay hands on Sis. Saxton and ask god to give her the gift of writting songs. They all did, and I have ever since. I had tried to a few times before that night, and just never could. How do you ever forget something like that? I am 54 now and have over 54 of them. I was only 21 at the time so I guess I'm averaging about 2 per year. That may not seem like many compared to some great song writers like Mike Murdock that's written over 5,000 in his lifetime, but they are all diffinately god inspired and they are all very special to me. I sing them all the time during my personal time of worship every day.
Besides this there were such special meetings and times of spiritual visitation from our Lord during all of the services. I especially remember how the spirit of god would move on Pastor Tanberg's wife Sis. Anita, and how she would play the piano, like only she could, while singing in tounges and phophecying. She was also a beautiful person that was a personal blessing to me. She always had words of wisdom and encouragement and knowledge every time we saw her. One night while visiting at her daughter Jane Stienhour's house for dinner, she gave me special words of comfort and hope for my own mother who had cancer at the time.
I promised myself upon leaving, that I would someday have to return, I wished, to live.
