DR Kharmen Lopez Del Castillo MD

I left my Doctor of over 20yrs because he was no longer "in network" of my insurance.
I went to VMG because they are "in network" and with my insurance there is NO charge for an annual physical exam.
But, the doctor didn't use the CORRECT codes for ROUTINE physical and I am now charged in FULL to the amount of $400.00 for what should have been a covered visit.
VMG refused to fix the code and turned me over to a collection agency!
So if you go there you better be prepared to PAY out of pocket!

I have noticed in another review complaints of Dr. Jerald Fie nland. Interestingly enough, he was my fathers PCP for many years before he died of medical malpractice. I DO NOT site Dr. Fie nland for his death as it eventually ended at the hands of Cooley D ickenson Hospital. However, I feel that if the doctors in general at Valley Medical Group were more aware of their patients needs and records, he may have been saved.

I also had Dr. Ruth P otee as a PCP for a while. When I went to her office complaining of brst pain. I was told by her that, luckily, brst cancer is not typically painful. Therefore, I shouldn't worry too much about it. A brst exam was never done even after I requested one. I hope she is right.

And lastly, I was there again a few weeks ago for my repeatedly excruciating back pain (yes, I am still having brst pain also, but they insist in only addressing one issue at a time). I have been seen on many different occasions for my back pain by Valley Medical. I was offered the same prescription and physical therapy which I have received before, and acts only as a band-aid to my problem before it returns again. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with their "diagnosis" and "treatment", they plainly told me that they had no idea what was causing my problem. Again, no further evaluation was offered, due to my "young" age. I drove home in emotional and painful tears.
