This sorry excuse for a movie theater is just that. I went tonight to address an issue with management about the staff not allowing my adult 21 year old son to authorize my daughter a (Minor) to enter to see a scary movie. They told him very rudely that they were just not going to allow him to be their legal guardian. So at this point I took a ride to the movie theater and was treated with the same disrespect my son had encountered and the Hmmmmm dare I call her a lady, manager came from the back and began to raise her voice to me telling me that she didn't approve of the way that I was rude to her staff? I asked her what in the hell was she talking about? I had simply just walked into the theater to discuss this issue like adults. She told me instead to leave. So I did after getting pissed that someone would treat another adult like that. I asked her who was her corporate contact and that I am sure they would love to hear how her attitude was while speaking to a customer. She informed me she was corporate. So I said a few choice (cuss words) back to her and left while they were hollering "calls the cops" Like I really give a damn about the cops being called. Called for what? No crime had been committed. So fine call the cops. Well I complied and left with my daughter and her friend.(avoiding the whole cops being called) I will return in the morning to picket this theater on public property so others will know just how bad they treat their customers. Maybe a little loss of revenue will help them with an attitude adjustment.

I have had bad experiences with this theater the last four or five times that I have went. Either the picture was out of focus, the sound would be too loud, or they would have a malfunction of some sort. After you pay the steep price for admission to this place you should expect to at least enjoy the movie. I guess it's a good thing there is nothing else to do in Dickson.

Not good, just no competition

I've been to the Roxy many times because it is the only Theater in Dickson and the next closest one is almost 40 miles away. In general the theater is OK (good concessions, clean bathrooms, decent movie selections etc) but every single time I've been there, there have been technical issues. Usually it's the sound, either it's turned so loud my ears are ringing after the movie is over, and I'm a rock guitar player not just a doddering old fool, or worse the sound is distorted badly like they have blown speakers. If I mention it to one of the staff, they just shrug and say there's nothing they can do about it. I have never been offered a free soda, or partial refund or any kind of token for a dissatisfied customer. I'm not hard to please, the Roxy is only the second theater in my life I've ever had to complain about and I've gone to a lot of theaters.

The last time I went was the worst movie experience of my life, ironically the sound was actually OK but the picture quality was awful. The picture was out of focus badly. I left the theater and asked one of the staff if they were aware of it, she said, they had been having trouble with it since yesterday. So, it was a known trouble and they went ahead and sold tickets anyways. Now when I say the picture was bad I mean unwatchable. Not only was it out of focus but the heads were cut off, the picture was very dim and there were huge red bars on each edge of the picture. Even my three year old said after five minutes: I just wanna go home. We left the theater, went to the ticket booth and asked for our money back, the response was."We can't give you a refund." I asked to speak to the manager and was told she wasn't there. This was a special showing for the kids library reading club and the theater was packed. Dozens of people left the show (I've never seen that before due to a technical issue) and all were told that the only thing they would do is admit us back for the next showing. After that we were out of luck.

Feeling like they had me over a barrel and the fact that my daughter really wanted to see the movie I reluctantly agreed. I came back after 2 hrs for the next showing and for the 1st 3 previews there was absolutely no sound and they were fiddling with the picture, going in and out of focus, up and down, etc. This was after they had moved the picture to another room. Finally, by the time the movie started, they had it just about right and the second showing was much better than the first.

I feel like they ripped off about 200 people who actually sat and endured the first showing for whatever reason. Never an apology, offer of compensation, just SEE YA LATER. THANKS FOR BUYING STUFF.

Fortunately, they have seen fit to raise their ticket prices 17%. This is without a doubt the biggest armature hour in theater management in Tennessee. It's sad too because for years we wanted a theater in Dickson and were so excited when it was built only to be stuck with this clunker.

I really like ouR Roxy theater...

I really like ouR Roxy theater, thankful we don't have to go all the way to Nashville now. Ony thing i could complain about is that concession stand is very expensive, which most theaters are. But all in all i am very happy they are ere.

way too expensive

Great to have in such a small town but ridiculously priced on admission, coke, popcorn, & candy. They need to lower their prices about 30-40%.

No competition...AGREED!

After moving to the area about 6 months ago my family and I decided to see a movie at the ONLY theater remotely close to home. Non caring attitudes and technical difficulties were the result! Broke down and gave it another shot this past weekend after much pleading from my children to see HOP. No customer service, movie starting 20 minutes late, and 3, yes THREE times of the movie stopping and being restarted...even my kids refuse to go back at this point!!! Clearly a situation where the theater feels with no competition they have no worries!!!
