My service was absolutely horrible. The clerk at turn in tried charging me $400 for a reservation my company reserved for $120. when I showed her the reservation she refused to fix it and I went to the office and they didn't help. It took days of me calling to get the account properly charged. They still charge me an additional $22 on my personal card for a service that was included on my company original reservation. I have never felt more like I was dealing with a company trying everything possible to steal from its customers. if I could choose less than one star I would.
National Car rental at the Detroit, MI airport is excellent. All the car rental companies there bus you over to their facilities. National drivers are polite and give you the information you need without providing too much information. When you return your car, drivers like "Linda" actually wait for you so you do not have to run to catch the bus or miss your flight. It is greatly appreciated.

A long day of travel landed me in Detroit early on the morning of Wednesday, September 7, 2016. I was pleased to fine a full-size vehicle still available in the Executive row at 1 am. However, my delight was short lived. I approached the checkout booths to find both open booths block by Nation employees leaving in their personal car and carrying on a lengthy conversation with the employees manning the booths. To my dismay, this went on for almost 10 minutes. Once they cleared, I pulled up and was told the small curlicue mark on the rear window meant it was time for the vehicle’s oil to be change. I was instructed to go back a pick another vehicle and get back in line. After inspecting the remaining cars to ensure there were no marks on them, I was left with a midsize car with not Bluetooth. I tempted to pass on my experience directly to National and was sent to Yelp.
We boarded the National bus at the Detroit Metro airport after only a five minute wait. Arriving at the National lot we were greeting by a customer service representative who identified the cars we could select. The selection was large and the cars very clean. The check out process took less than a minute. The return process was very fast as well and all employees were customer focused. Good job National employees.

Outstanding Service, clean, well maintained vehicles, extremely friendly and helpful staff. I travel about twice a month and ALWAYS rent from National. While my experience with the folks at Detroit Metro has always been exceptional, I get the same level of service no matter which airport I fly into.
I/We waited at the terminal abut 45 minutes for the shuttle bus to arrive and pick us up and take us to the National Facility. Horrible service.
Always there to help. Plenty of cars availible and leaving lot was super fast. Reward program is a definite benift when trying to move quick
Service related to picking up my car was and always is excellent. The car choices were limited this time around, but staff found a vehicle for me that suited my needs. Drop off was not the experience I'm used to. The lot was over crowded with vehicles which required me to park a large vehicle in a small space making removing my personal items challenging. I had to wait for a rep to come over to greet me check the vehicle in. Then the walk to the terminal bus was long and difficult due to maneuvering through all the vehicles on the lot (suitcases in tow) that were parked very close together. In fairness, this was just a bad experience once in the many times I'm at National at DTW. It was definitely an unusual experience.
