Everyone from the shuttle bus driver to the sign out gate agent were very friendly and helpful. The facility, shuttle bus, and cars were all very clean, and in good working order. I have used National Car Rental for about 18 years, and only had one bad event, and that was at Charlotte, NC when my flight was delayed and all the National Car staff went home after I had confirmed a pickup (spent the night in the airport).
The whole process was quick and easy. Everyone was courteous and friendly.........................
The Detroit Mrtro Airport location always had a good selection of vehicles and good service when need.
DTW facility was nice to deal with nice car and no whining about its a specialty car .. i say it specially because i am executive elite status so i can choose nicer cars which has only happened at this place. So 4+ starts for this facility however at RDU facility they not nice often rude and their car are often not clean. i asked for a specific car and it was there but he said it will be extra which should not be, since i have rented the same car before without extra payment unfortunately the desk people are bad however the return people are nice. for RDU facility i would give 2.5 star.
National is by far the best rental car company out here. Best experience every time I rent a vehicle. They just get better, I can't say anything else about them.
I work for Nissan and need to drive a Nissan. There was none on the lot except for an Altima. I was told that the Altima is not an Emerald selection but next level up. I was in Detriot and all the other locations I frequent the Altima is an Emerald. Regardless a Sentra quickly appeared, clean and the attendent turned it around for me. All employees at checkout and return are always awesome, friendly and remind me to check for all belongings. Pickup and drop off with Emerald status is a breeze. I use National atleast once a month.
Great experience! By joining the Emerald Club was able to move up to a premiering car at no extra cost. Car was clean, low miles. Emerald Club made it easy to pick up and drop off. For sure will rent another car from National.
I don't know why every rental car company doesn't offer a service like the Emerald Aisle. I love picking out my car. I found a loaded Chrysler 300C in the mix. Great car, easy in and out. I will only rent from National from now on!
We made a reservation for an infant carrier with our rental and called in advance to confirm one would be available. Yet when we arrived, we were told there weren't any on the premises. This is a problem because 1) National is putting children's lives in danger by not fulfilling their agreements 2) they made no attempt to notify me when it was clear they knew they had no car seats 3) Instead of sending someone out to buy or arrange to secure an additional car seat, the associate I spoke with suggested we drive to Walmart illegally without my child in a restraint. Furthermore, he told us that we were the third family who they did not have a car seat for THAT DAY. Why after the first family did someone not address the problem? 4) We drove to Walmart and bought a car seat. It cost us $150. Of course, we don't need this seat because we already have one, and we had to check it onto the airplane to bring it home. 5) We reported all of this by phone and social media the day we wented the car. I was assured someone would call within 48 hours to resolve the issue. No one has called. This is a problem and I would hope that National not only reimburses us for the $150 car seat, but then goes beyond that for its complete lack of consideration for the safety of a child. If the company has no corporate policy in place to ensure that they are fulfilling their promises to customers and ensuring basic safety of child passengers, one must be made. If there is a policy in place, I'd like to see it and receive some kind of explanation why the policy wasn't followed. Minimally we should have been notified that no seat was available the morning of our rental so other arrangements could have been made. Has this happened to you or someone you know? I have been using National Car Rental for a while and I love the service and I love that I am able to choose my car and I don't have to go inside and I never get charged for rental + miles like other companies. I think it is fair for customer to pay for rental car and pay miles on top of rental. Prices are very fair and cars are always clean and newer with fewer miles..
