I have to say that this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a hotel in the past 10 years. I had a reservation here last Wednesday and I was contacted by the hotel as they had overbooked and wanted to walk me to a nearby hotel. The hotel was a Comfort Inn - not really the same thing. I had a client coming in from out of town who basically bore the burden of this fiasco with me. I left a message for the GM who thought it was better business not to get back to me. I left two inquiries on Marriott's website to inquire about the situation with no response. If I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, I can't rate this hotel for the rooms - only the poor customer service. If they would do this to a Platinum level customer, I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed if you encounter issues. You've been warned.
This Hotel has not opened yet, but I can not wait for it. I used to stay at the Residence Inn across I-75, but then it closed. I currently stay at either the Fairfield or Courtyard on Miller Lane. They are alright, but old and outdated. I only stay at Marriott Hotels so I can use my Marriott Rewards membership so it will be nice to have a new Marriott to stay at. I like that fact that all of their rooms are Suites. I understand that most of them will be Studio Suites. I have stayed at Townplaces before in a Studio Suite. They are pretty big rooms. When I travel with my family, I like Townplace because all the rooms have sofa beds so my kids can sleep on the sofa bed and my husband and me still get a comfortable King Size bed. Most of the time I have to get a room with two double beds with other hotels. I can not wait for this new hotel to open.
I called to get information about the hotel and when it was opening. The man I spoke to, I think he was the General Manager, was very friendly and helpful. The only downfall to the whole Miller Lane area is that there is not a Starbuck's close, but he told me that the hotel may feature Starbuck's brewed coffee for free and that's enough for me to stay there. The man told me they open June.
