In order for these cosmetics to be really effective, they have to be applied to well-shaped, smooth eyelids. Taking away the excess skin and puffiness that occurs with aging is the purpose of eyelid surgery. The result is that patients look well-rested and friendlier.
Liposuction
Lifting techniques involve removal of skin and fat. Fat can be removed with liposuction, which involves small, difficult to detect scars. However, skin removal requires a longer, more noticeable scar. The longer the scar, the more skin that can be removed. Also, the closer the scar is to the skin being removed, the more effective and accurate the removal will be.
Breast Augmentation
There are three ways to improve the youthfulness of a woman’s breasts. If a woman wants only a modest elevation of her breasts and wants larger breasts, a breast augmentation may be the best procedure. The nipples will appear higher, and the upper part of the breasts will be fuller. Another benefit of the augmentation alone is that the scars are virtually invisible.

The folds of skin are usually removed through an incision in the lower abdomen. Occasionally, a “reverse” abdominoplasty is performed, with the scar under and between the breasts. In either procedure, the skin and fat are lifted over the abdominal muscles. This allows the folds to be redraped smoothly and effectively. An incision is made around the belly button (it is kept attached to the underlying muscle layer), so the belly button does not get pulled into the wrong position.

Scar Revision
The most common complications for skin tightening mastopexies are (1.) loss of skin at the top or bottom of the vertical scar (near the areola and inflamammary fold) and (2.) unsightly scars. Loss of the skin is treated with antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin) or saline –moistened gauze. Unsightly scars may be treated with pressure on the scars, cortisone injections, silicone gel applications, or scar revision.

Dermabrasion
Reduction of the most severe vertical wrinkles around the lips temporarily with hyaluronic acid fillers. Further improvement may be achieved by injecting Botox or Dysport to weaken the underlying muscles that cause lip wrinkles. A more comprehensive and more long-lasting benefit may be achieved using dermabrasion, chemical peel solutions, ablative lasers or fractionated lasers.
Bariatric Surgery
Maybe the Michelin boy likes the way he looks, but the rest of us are usually not pleased to have folds of excess skin and fat in our abdomen. These folds are unsightly, and finding attractive clothing (especially bathing suits and other form-fitting outfits) is challenging and often frustrating. The folds are bulky and uncomfortable, and may cause rashes and irritation. These folds usually occur when patients gain and then lose a lot of weight. This frequently occurs with pregnancies or with obesity reversed by diet and exercise programs or after bariatric surgery.
Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation is achieved either with a repositioning of the bone, an implant made of bone-like Teflon, or injections with a volumizer like Radiesse. The first two options are permanent, while the Radiesse lasts about one year.
