Mexicali Restaurant

I've been coming to Mexicali for over a decade - since my granddaughter was in a high chair! Now, THIS place is authentic. Run by two brothers, Mexicali has just opened a second location at 1456 Belt Line Rd (corner of Belt Line & Garland Rd) in Garland. It's about time!!



If you judge a Mexican restaurant by its salsa, then Mexicali has them all beat. When they bring us each our own individual bowls of it, I always joke that I just need a spoon - or a straw. It's so fresh, with just the right amount of heat. I love the Tacos al Carbon, but if you want to "cheap out," the Cheese Enchiladas are the way to go.



To sum it up, Mexicali has an intimate atmosphere, modest prices, and some of the best Mexican cuisine you'll find north of the border - it's like Mexican home-cookin'! Not only is Mexicali MY favorite Mexican restaurant, but it's the one place my 13-year-old granddaughter would rather eat than anyplace else in the world!
