- Before every trail ride, you are shown either a video or live presentation covering&;how the horses are trained, some about horse personality and safety. Then you are given an opportunity to try your horse out in the ring before you go out on the trail.  This way, if we need to, we can change horses before you go out on the trail.This is a very good value we give you for free! We believe it's important.   Your trail is guided by a trained Guide. You ride over some of the most beautiful land in Western North Carolina;The vacation cabins are sequestered.Some have great views of mountains in the distance, some are surrounded by a beautful forest with great views of horses riding by. If your lucky, you'll see some deer or Have to stop to let the wild turkey cross the road! “An Amazing Ride!”
My husband and I recently spent a week in North Carolina, hiking and biking and on every trail we saw people on horseback having an amazing ride. After calling around, we found Arrowmont Stables and are so glad we took the time to check around. We had an incredible experience and the most zen ride ever through the mountains and forests. The staff were thoroughly fantastic and David led us through a wonderland equine experience. Nancy, the owner was more than gracious and even watered and fed us on our journey. We HIGHLY recommend Arrowmont as the best place to ride in North Carolina!

“Dream Engagement!!”
It all started in January 2012 when I called and wanted to propose to my girlfriend on horseback. I am from Florida and have family living in cashiers so I was familiar with the area. I called Arrowmont and talked to Nancy who was very helpful in helping put together my engagement ideas during our visit. She went out of her way to set up a beautiful table at the bottom of the mountain with a fire and nice lunch as I asked! It is by far the most beautiful horseback ride I have ever been on and recommend it to anybody looking to enjoy a couple hours in the mountain air. This visit would not have been remarkable with out the help and charming attitude of David who took us through the mountain. David also went out of his way and came in on his day off and set up my idea i had. PERFECT PERFECT place to ride!!

“This is the best mountain riding stable in the world - yes, the world!”
I've ridden all over the USA, in Europe, and in the Caribbean. Never have I been to a stable when even the beginner trail ride is scenic and challenging, and the more advanced riding trips were loved by all. The best part is the treatment of by the owners and staff - like friends more than trail guides. And the best part - the 30 minute introductory video that all must watch will give pointers on riding to even the most experienced riders - do NOT miss this stable when visiting the area.
