UCHealth Emergency Room - Commerce City

For UC-health on 104th and chambers: Unless you are dying I would never go here! I took in my 9 month old after he had been crying all night for what I assumed was an ear infection. I googled urgent cares near me and this was the first thing to pop up. I rushed to get him in for them to confirm it was an ear infection an to write a prescription. A month later I am being charged 1800 (with insurance) for the 10 min visit and 200 for the actual doctor charge. Absolutely absurd and unethical. You are not a hospital and your emergency room is not within a hospital. And even if you were in the past the most I’ve gotten charged for a quick ER visit has been 500, that’s without insurance. I will get a lawyer before I pay this just because of how unethical you guys are. You should be ashamed of yourselves, absolutely disgusting what you guys are trapping people into.

I was the very first patient to be seen at First Choice ER and though the staff was extremely kind and accommodating, I have continued to grow worse and worse in my illness because of the misdiagnose for strep. I now have severe tonsilitis. Not to say it is necessarily the doctor's fault, but I was obviously exhibiting intense symptoms, they should have at least taken a long-term culture. I hope that in the future they take some of their positive energy and expend it helping solve the overall problem rather than making my "hospital experience" more comfortable.
