Exquisite Barber & African Hair Braiding

This salon "business" , if you to call it is total unprofessional. I had originally scheduled my appointment for 9 but I got phone call asking if I could come in at 8am instead. I get there the next at 8am, and the shop isn't even open! Then, I get a phone call from the, I'm assuming the shop owner's daughter or something, saying that they're on their way to open the shop. They come, open the shop and then leave me there by myself! and tell me that the actual people doing my hair are on their way! They twisted my hair way to tight and here's the kicker!... one of people doing my hair asked me to pay way before the session was finished!

If I could give this mess of a shop 0 stars I would... don't go hear, stay away and save your money because they overcharge for shotty work in my opinion.

I have been to this shop four or five time before (mainly for my daughter). Usually, the only complaint I would about this shop is they can be very slow. This last experience with Exquisite was very disappointing and I will not be returning. To make a long story short, wherever they bought the hair from, it stinks. My daughter said she thought it was the hair grease, but after a couple days, the braided hair was still stinky. I called and let the owner know about the hair. She said my daughter can come to get her hair redone, but she can not pay two women to braid, which means that we would be there forever. She also said, that the lady would braid my daughter's hair over, but she will only be there in the morning. My daughter goes to school. So, at the end of this mess, the owner said she will give me a 50% discount for next time. HA!, there will NOT be a next time.

I usually don't right reviews, just will never return to the place again. But in this case I have to warn people. I was so fooled by the ratings this company received. The girl that did my hair was coughing all over me and did not braid they way I wanted her too. I told her I did not want micros and they did them any way. Also while I was there there was an agrument going on between the owner and a former employee (who by the way was moving her stuff out right in front of us). They only talk to each other in African and not the consumer- which I thought was very rude. When I was finally done I left there with hair covered all over me (which they never offered to removed) This place was very unprofessional and I will never recommend this place to anyone. I feel some of the reviews were made by the employees themselves. There is no way this place could be that great. Consumers beware.

This salon is great! Superb! The Best! Reasonable Prices! I came up and had the beautician evaluate my hair as to whether I could get single braids. I am caucasian and she said absolutley...I have thick hair and she agreed to do the braids with extensions for a price (that included the extensions) I thought was very reasonable. I told her I was going to have my roots colored first and then I would make an appointment for the braids. Got my hair colored...made the appointment...she was there on time...it actually took about 7 hours but I thought that was reasonable since I do have thick hair and two people worked on my braids. It did not hurt at all...they did not do the braids too tight and I am extremely satisfied with the results. I am going to have them done again in about 3 months when I get my roots done again...Exceptionally gracious lady and clean salon. Not hard to find....and they do exceptionally fantastic work! I have received many compliments on my braids! Thank youI Aliman I will return again!

Exquisite Braiders are awesome - Personally, I've been going to the salon for 2 years now - Not a regular or anything just maybe 2x a year. These ladies started braiding my hair after I'd chopped it off (dramatically-really damaged). My hair was so short (my hair is that "seems like it could never grow crap) they caught every strand (I'm tenderheaded) and OMG! I always leave their braids in a good I wanna say 4-5 months -b/c they don't slip out and they stay beautiful. My hair has grown so much- it's unbelievable - these ladies have growing hands!!! I'll always go there. My only issue w/ them is the African talking -to me it's rude.. Other than that I really don't care talk all you want - my hair is Da Bomb!!!
