Our real estate attorneys work closely with members of our litigation practice to effectively prosecute and defend such claims.
Real Estate TransactionsOwnership and use of land is an integral part of everyone's personal and business life. Thus, real estate transactions may be as simple as a transfer deed or they may be complex multi-state, multi-million dollar business deals. We have substantial hands-on experience in planning, structuring, negotiating, and closing real estate deals for clients located throughout the United States. Consequently, we can bring you the collective knowledge of a group of lawyers who have seen and done the full spectrum of real estate transactions for our clients. We know how others have done similar transactions, and we know the types of problems they have encountered. Our experience becomes your asset because we can save you time delays and costs by helping you design a plan that avoids these problems.

Child Custody and VisitationOur approach to divorce cases is to provide clients with realistic goals and expectations in their divorce case. This means counseling the client on what he or she may expect in the case from opposing counsel, the judge, and the other spouse on all issues including pre- and post-nuptial agreements, division of property, division of debts, alimony, and child custody/visitation. While many divorce cases settle, some do not and require a trial before a judge. We advise clients on the benefits and risks associated with settlement of their divorce case as well as the benefits and risks of letting a judge decide. This advice necessarily involves a realistic assessment of the costs involved in the case.
Trusts and Estates
ProbateOur recent legislative efforts include business incentives, insurance regulation, utility regulation, and trust administration. We directed a successful effort to obtain a statutory exemption from redundant state pipeline safety regulations. Other projects include tax credit, economic development, probate law, and sales and use tax matters. We also drafted amendments to federal banking law providing for a federal override of state usury limits.
Estate PlanningProviding full service to our clients, particularly as a complement to our estate planning and tax services, sometimes means assisting clients in their private as well as their business lives. We have justly earned a reputation for handling high profile divorces in a low profile
