Horsburgh & Scott manufactures industrial gears and mechanical gear drive for the steel, aluminum, rubber, plastics, mining, paper, food processing, coal and pollution control industries. The company offers a broad range of industrial gear types for new or replacement installations. H&S manufactures helical, internal, double helical, racks, worms, Maag hard cut, precision ground, spur and herringbone gearing in sizes from 3 inches to 30 feet in diameter. It also manufactures custom gear drives from several thousand lb-in to more than 54,000,000 lb-in of output torque. Drives range in size from 20' long by 10' wide to drives the size of a small summer cottage. The company also specializes in upgrading existing units to provide increased HP capacity in the same envelope to fit existing foundations. Its Service and Rebuild Center offers recondition and repair of all types of enclosed gear drives and gear assemblies. H&S was founded in 1886 and incorporated in 1903. It maintains headquarters in Cleveland and is a subsidiary of P&H Mining Equipment.
