BurglaryDarrien Jones, 21, was believed to be the shooter. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 37 years. He pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, murder, felonious assault and kidnapping.
Drug CrimesKathy busted with crack in a known prostitution street: Kathy must think the cops are stupid. On March 27, around 9:20 p.m., a patrol car was cruising in the 200 block of West Market Street, which is known for its’ high drug trafficking and soaring prostitution. As the officers approached they spotted a short, fat 44 year old w/f named Kathleen Taylor, who was standing next to a vehicle talking to an unknown male. When the driver spotted the patrol car he pulled away as the officers pulled into the parking lot. An officer got out and approached Miss Taylor who immediately admitted that she had four rocks of crack in her left jacket pocket. She also said she knew the area is well known for hookers but, she wasn’t doing anything but talking to the dude in the car who she only knew him as Brick. Yeah right!
MurderTurner’s brother, Paul, 24, was not present at the Brennan’s Colony murder but was accused of hiding the gun used to kill Brennan. He was also sentenced for the two other crimes he committed with his brother. He pleaded guilty to obstructing justice, tampering with evidence and having a weapon under disability. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
KidnappingBrandon Jones, Darrien’s brother was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for 40 years. He pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, murder, felonious assault, and kidnapping. He worked at Brennan’s Colony as a dishwasher. It is believed that the whole scheme to rob Brennan was his idea. He was in the restaurant when the other three men came in. He even pretended to be a victim of the robbery. After the shooting, Brandon even talked to the police.
ManslaughterBrelo was indicted on two counts of voluntary manslaughter on May 30, 2014. He entered a not guilty plea to both counts. Five police supervisors were indicted at the same time for negligence of duty.
