Dr. John N Semertzides, MD

Dr. Semertzides is a totally from a different planet.....I don't mean that in a bad way by any means.........he just isn't your typical surgeon at all. He is soft spoken, but hilarious, caring, truthful (even when it is something that you don't want to hear), and above all speaks to his patients in a way that they understand for as long as it takes.



I have had 3 surgeries by him in less than 2 years and he did 2, but referred me on the one he didn't do to another doctor.



He took out a sebaceous cyst out of my chest; initially I thought it was a inverted pimple, but when a white floss started coming out and i couldn't get it out I called him! I was freaking out. After her took it out I asked to see it (I am gross I know) and it was gross, but awesome at the same time. He also took out my gallbladder (I also got to see pictures of that from the inside of my body during surgery because they use micro cameras).



During the gallbladder surgery I was asleep, but with the cyst one I got to pick out a cd to listen to, we laughed and he let me take it home to remember the day. Like I said he is one of those doctors that truly cares about his patients.



I am going to schedule another appointment tomorrow because I have another cyst on my arm. So wish me luck, not that I need it cuz he rocks!



Oh and the one that he referred me to someone else was a Osteochondroma(bone tumor in the leg, not cancer) which he wasn't comfortable doing, but I was sent to him because my doctor sent me for an ultrasound and they said I had a cyst, but when he felt it he had me go get an MRI and thank goodness he did because if he would have cut it instead of puss it would have been a tumor that had broken out of my bone. I guess I left out this one along with his other great qualities!
