After waiting in line for 2 hours last year to get Spritz cookies, I called ahead this year to pre-order for pick up so to avoid as long of wait. They took my order and my credit card to pre-pay, then called me back an hour later to tell me that they can't fill a request for just "one" kind of cookie. I could order a "Swedish Assortment" which would contain a few Spritz cookies, but not order Spritz only. WHAT??? Last year they told me to call ahead to order my Spritz and this year, they won't let me order them (yet had no problem taking my personal credit card information). Then to add salt to the wound, they suggested that I just come down and stand in line again (for hours) and take my chances on being able to get the Spritz cookies. So, to assist their customers you cannot order ahead of time, but you can come stand in line for hours and get the cookies you want if they have them. Sorry Swedish Bakery, but you've lost a customer.

Swedish Bakery made our wedding cake and did a wonderful job. Everything from the planning, delivery, to the cake itself was great. I would highly recommend everyone who is looking for a wedding cake to schedule a meeting with Swedish Bakery to see what they can do for you.

Thanks to a beautiful co-worker who treated our office to many of the excellent items on the Swedish bakery menu, there was only one, I do not recommend, and that is that white-chocolate ganache (yuck!) One of the nastiest cakes I've ever tasted.

This is a good bakery if you don't like rich buttery tasting baked goods. A bit dry and bland...I like Greman Bakeries better, but this place is fine in a pinch. Fridays are the best, but also very busy. Basteille Day brings Blueberry items.

Way understaffed!!!!\r I have waited for 20 minutes before getting my number called and its just isn't worth it.\r You have to go at a time when its not so busy-but forget the weekend. The cookies are SO ridiculously overpriced for a bakery its size, and so are the cakes-pretty much everything is high. For what you pay for the service s*cks. \r Also-had a cake ordered for my graduation and there was so much buttercream between the cake layers that we couldn't taste the cake; BAD CAKES!

The cinnamon raisin bread at 'Swedish Bakery' in Chicago's Andersonville neighbourhood, stands alone as the best in the city. If you want to be really decadent, use the bread to make french toast (or is it 'freedom' toast:). \r \r And if you are celebrating a birthday, order their glazed strawberry cake with the birthday message written on a strip of green marzipan. \r \r Be prepared for a lengthy wait, as the line can be fairly long.\r

I was amazed after visiting the Swedish Bakery as to the low quality of the pastries we purchased. After hearing about how good everything was, I left feeling cheated.
