General Info: Based in Chicago, Ill.,The Coalition for United Community Action-ORT Inc., is a social service & welfare organizations. Since 1970, it works with community organizations, labor unions, contractors, and government agencies to develop construction training programs for unemployed and underemployed minorities and females. The community is working to create jobs and other economic opportunities for Americans by offering training activities such as Apprenticeship Preparedness Training Program and Project Upgrade. Its services include compliance monitoring and reporting of hiring and contracting activities, community outreach, recruitment of minority and female construction workers, develop and upgrade professional skills, career counseling and referral and training.
