Overall
Repeat Customer

My dog has been groomed here every three weeks for the last three years. There has never been a problem and we are regularly complimented on her our dog's appearance. She loves going to Doggy Styles and has always been treated very well there. I highly recommend it.

Overall
DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!

Kept my dogs for 1 1/2 hrs longer than planned, confused my dogs and used the wrong shampoo on them (one had a skin condition). When dropping my pets off I watched them leave dogs unattended on the grooming tables with the leashes attached to their necks (dogs have died like this at other grooming locations). When I arrived to pick them up they had the blinds to the back closed to so i couldn't see what was going on and kept telling me "they weren't ready". my one dog came out with bloody scabs and scrapes all over her scalped where they ripped the knots out of her head and tie her hair up too tight. They then tried to say that it was like that when she came in and took no responsibility. I would absolutely NEVER take my dogs there again or recommend them to anyone!!!

My name is Jennifer and I own Doggy Styles in Chatham, NJ. I was unsure if I should respond to the review but I decided to at least address the parts that were untrue. Myself and the manager groomed the two yorkies above. First, we did not keep the dogs 1.5 hours longer, we kept them 30 minutes longer. We ask for a four hour time frame and their appointment was at 12pm. The owner came at 4:30. She is right that it was still longer than it should have been and I have since tried to address this issue with all of my groomers to be done in a timely manner. Second, we did not confuse the dogs or the shampoo. The owner did not ask for any specific shampoo (since we charge extra for specialty shampoos) and she did not bring us any prescription shampoos to use either. All of our shampoos are from Les Pooch (top of the line) hypo allergenic. As per leaving dogs on the grooming table unattended is just untrue. The dogs are attached by a two part system called "the groomer's helper" so they cannot fall off the table. Also there are 4 groomers on Saturdays when this customer came in. If we need to attend to a customer there are other groomers with the dogs when we do so. As far as closing the blinds, we do that if a customer comes in and the dog is not ready. Usually a dog will get very excited to see their owner and it will be very difficult to finish. I had closed the blinds to replace the bow because the owner told us we putt he wrong color in she said, "pink bows not iridescent." The pink bow apparently was iridescent and not "real" pink. When I said it is pink she said, "not hot pink it has to match their wardrobes." The customer is right that we did not take responsibility for the redness of this skin. There were absolutely no scrapes and not sure how scabs could have formed in that amount of time as she claims. When she dropped off, the bow she had from the previous grooming was still in the hair in a knotted clump. That pulls on the skin and can cause irritation. I should have taken the bow out then to look at it, but I did not, and that was my mistake. I would have if I knew we were going to be blamed. What was most disappointing is that these two yorkies were some of the best behaved sweetest dogs we ever groomed. The owner even tipped us $10 each.
