Dentist

My son's experience was horrible. He went in a cavity on a baby molar and a pulpotomy. Dr. Frank gave very little patience and concern for my son's pain management and even called my son "disrespectful" when he exhibited signs of severe pain. My son was screaming and shaking and Dr. Frank ignored this and didn't ever try to comfort him or pause the procedure to reassure him. Thank god I didn't sit in the waiting like I was asked to do or I wouldn't have known the horrible experience my son experienced. We were lied to by the assistant who assured us that there would be no pain. Another assistant attempted to hold my son's wrist at his sides and when I objected, Dr. Frank told her to let go of his arms. The steel crown was forcibly jammed into my son's gum line causing to scream in pain. After he was done my son and I was crying and very upset. Dr.Frank simply said we needed time to "calm down" and he never apologized. Overall our experience left my son shaking and traumatized. We will never return.

This Office is phenomenal ! From the moment you deal with the wonderful ladies at the front desk to the clinical staff. The Dentist, Dr.Tonya was absolutely great with my children. I only wish these great human beings were around when I was a child. Thank You !

I took my 2 year old in for an appointment, everyone there seemed very nice. The fees are absolutely ridiculous!! I took my 2 year old in for an appointment, they charged me $99.00 for a cleaning, $ 128.00 for an exam and $ 57.00 for Fluoride. Needless to say I will not be returning! These fees are more than what most dentist charge for adults. This office should be ashamed of himself for charging these fees!

My son has been a patient at E...

Service has declined at Eastfield.

My son has been a patient at Eastfield since 2011 and at that time needed 3 crowns and 9 cavities filled, I remember the experience being as good as it can be when your 3 year old is getting that much work. The work was done well and he came home with no pain or swelling. Last week he went for a check up, we had a 1:00 appointment, but we had to wait an hour to be seen. He had a cavity and we made another appointment to come back that Friday. On Friday we had a 9:30 appointment, again we had to wait almost an hour before he was seen (how can they be that behind at 9:30am). Later that day his cheek swelled to twice its size, I was getting worried and tried to call to ask if this was normal. The office had closed at 1 and the only suggestion left on the voice mail was to go to the emergency room. This was not an emergency, I just needed to see if this was normal or if there was a reason why his cheek would swell, so I called my sons MD. When the swelling did not go down by the next day, I took him to his MD, because I wanted to be sure there was no infection. The MD said she was not sure what happened, but it looked like his cheek was probably pinched (this pinch was well above where his bite is, so she confirmed he was not biting his cheek). He looked like he had a gumball in his cheek for 3 days. It seems like Eastfield has changed since the first time we were there back in early 2011. I don’t like the fact that they do not want parents to be in the room with their children when they are working on them. At least if I had been in the room, I would have known if my son was not being cooperative. I don’t understand why they would think that young children would be less anxious without their parents. We will not be returning.

Terrible office

This dentist is horrible!!! There office team is rude!! All the work that has been done on one my kids is now being corrected and replaced!! It's all I have to not give him a what for. They abuse the good insurance policies to benefit their office. NEVER AGAIN!!

I visited this dentist for the first time today and met with Dr. Mike. He was very unpleasant and not engaging. He started working with my child and never acknowledged my presence until after the x-rays were completed. At that time, his speech was very abrasive and rude. It was so bad that my child started grabbing my leg and said " I don't want to go back. People shouldn't talk to Mommies that way"...

FYI... At this facility, if your child needs dental work, parents are not allowed in the room.

Overall
NOT a special needs dentist!

Dr. Kendrick told me when we first started going there over three years ago that he would be willing to work with my child, who has very mild autism and told me he was comfortable with working with her. I found it odd that they did not seem to know any interventions that would be helpful to children on the autism spectrum/sensory integration issues, and I did offer some suggestions, which were initially implemented and apparently successful to the point that I was told NOT to come back with her because she was doing so well. Recently, she was back in the work area all of 3 minutes and I was on my way to get her because I could her hear screaming like she was in pain-the brought her out to me, the tears are rolling, she told me that the dentist hurt her (my son said later that the dentist was "fighting" with her). The nurse tried to tell me they wanted to sedate my child from now on-I insisted on talking with Dr. Kendrick (who, by the way, had not spoken with me in about a year and a half despite going to him for cleanings). Imagine my surprise when I was told by Dr. Kendrick that he has allegedly had problems with her all along (despite being told by nurses/assistants that visits had gone well in the past) and wanted to use valium for every time she went into the office, including FOR CLEANINGS (valium sedates your child for pretty much the whole day for those unfamiliar with this drug). When I attempted to talk with him about this (and trying to talk rationally, despite the terrified screams of my child still ringing in my ears) he acted upset, literally stood on the other side of the office (despite a perfectly good desk and chair being there he could use) , turned away from me with his arms crossed, and refused to entertain the idea of any other intervention other than sedating my child for 24 hours for a cleaning. This dentist may be good for the "perfect patient" child, but if your child has ANY sort of special needs, including dental phobias, GO ELSEWHERE!

GREAT EXPERIENCE

This was our first visit today and my first visit using medicaid. I have heard story upon story about the horrors of visiting medicaid facilities. Needless to say I was so nervous - I even recently went to my regular dentist only to pay 100.00 for a cleaning only - I was terrified in putting my child in straps and having him scream and come out with metal caps!! Let me reassure anyone with Medicaid or any other Insurance this wonderful office is one I will continue to visit. The staff was great and "Dr Frank" (Frank Kendrick) was so great with my son. What a pleasure -- I could not have more pleased with my visit and the great care they had for my son as well as making me feel so much better. This dear sweet talented dentist takes Medicaid as a service - which tells me he truly cares. Love them and will be taking my 3 year old next month.

GREAT EXPERIENCE
