The Milovy review is so far off base it is not even funny. This is by far the best kept secret in all of Charlotte. I have going for 12 years now. I take friends, family, and business associates to AM's. Never once have I heard some one say something bad about this Tavern. Never. The food is very good, the atmosphere is awesome and the beer selection is very good.

I recommend the What it is with a Fransikaner draft for dinner.

I recommend grilled cheese for lunch.

Regardless what you order the food is good.

They do not take reservations. So this guy is lying in the first place. T

The owner makes his rounds to the tables and for the most part the majority of the wait staff has been working here for the 12 years I have been coming to the tavern.

Terrible Service, Rude Staff

We had a reservation and according to the host, they were 30-45 min behind in service. He told us we could go to the bar and have a drink ON THE HOUSE for having to wait. We all ordered a beer or glass of wine and when we were seated, the waitress asked who had which drink to add to our tab. We explained what the host told us and she replied rudely "No he would never do that" She got the bartender who started to tell us that we all must have selective hearing. We asked for the host to come over and we asked him directly, did he not offer us a drink on the house? He wouldn't look us in the eye and said no he didn't then scurried off. We all were shocked! My friend told the bartender and waitress that we could totally afford our own drinks, that wasn't the issue. We were being treated poorly for a mistake their staff made. The bartender and waitress then said some other very rude things to us about our "selective hearing" and that it must be a misunderstanding on our part. We decided to pay for the drinks and leave. As we were leaving the bartender stood at the door with his arms crossed, glaring at us like we were common criminals. I have never been treated so poorly in my life at an establishment. The other patrons around us even commented that they were 100% in the wrong. So terrible service, lying hosts and rude bartenders. I would never go back there.

This little girl is inaccurate from the start. Alexander Michael's has never in 25 years offered reservations. Call and ask..... They waited for a table like 50 other people did that night and were simply mad they didn't get free drinks. No other review on ANY website that I've viewed comes remotely close to the this negative, vindictive, made-up story.

Great Neighborhood Retreat!

Warm, cozy, comfortable atmosphere...great beer selection...always a good time!
