Davis Child Shelter is operated by the Children's Home Society of West Virginia, which is a private, nonprofit organization that offers child welfare, foster care, emergency shelter, mediation and advocacy services. Founded in 1896, the Children's Home Society of West Virginia administers various behavioral health, tutoring, truancy diversion and training programs. It offers a youth program that includes services for children and youths who suffer from behavioral problems. The organization is a member agency of the West Virginia Alliance for Children and Child Welfare League of America. The Children's Home Society of West Virginia is approved by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children.
