Founded in 1911, the Champaign Park District maintains various recreational facilities, parks and trails throughout Champaign County, Ill. It maintains more than 50 parks, including Bannon Mini, Bristol, Centennial, Glenn, Heritage and West Side. It conducts various programs, such as adopt a park, tree plantation and flower island. It maintains various recreational facilities, including meeting centers, libraries, theaters, lakes, tennis courts and community centers. It also offers its facilities on rental for various events, conferences and sports competitions. The Champaign Park District operates various preschool programs that include activities in music, dramatics, art and craft, games and ceramics. Located in Champaign, Ill., it also organizes a variety of special events.
