General Info
The health of your mouth is directly related to the health of your body. Heinecke Family Dentistry seeks to create an environment where all patients are provided with first-class dental care. Patient comfort, a welcoming staff, clean working environments, and attentive doctors are all things that you can expect at either of our two locations. Dr. Phillip Heinecke and his two associates, Dr. Ashley Heinecke Massey and Dr. Taylor Massey, are a team that bring both experience and the newest in technology to Brooksville and Spring Hill, FL.Both locations provide a wide range of basic dental services including: cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, dentures, and partials. Along with these basic services, implant restorations, laser teeth whitening, and goop-less crown impressions are some of the many new and exciting offerings we have at Heinecke Family Dentistry.
Some patients may need more than one treatment to reach their desired tooth color. Under certain circumstances, we may suggest more than one laser whitening treatment accompanied by a take home tray to even the shades and prevent shade rebound of the teeth. Schedule a new patient exam today and see if you are a candidate for this incredible procedure!
X-rays
In order to fully examine your teeth for decay and the bony structures for potential problems, we perform periodic x-rays. Our digital sensors not only instantly display images to increase your level of comfort and efficiently manage your time with us, but also greatly reduce your x-ray exposure and increase the quality of our diagnosis. The risk for dental x-rays is already extremely low, in fact you would recieve more radiation from a walk on the beach!
Oral Cancer Screening
The ADA reports that 50% of individuals over 50 years old have some form of gum disease. Therefore, it is important that we all maintain a clean and healthy mouth to prevent decay and gum disease. At Heinecke Family Dentistry, we offer periodic cleanings and check-ups to help you achieve optimal oral health. Along with these check-ups, we perform oral cancer screenings to catch early signs of soft and hard tissue problems. However, this does not replace good home care practices and we would love to help you create better habits for clean and healthy teeth!
We provide all of the services you need to keep your mouth healthy. Good oral health is often tied to good overall health. As part of our services you can expect us to help prevent gum diseases and evaluate your teeth regularly for potential problems. Some of the services we provide include bi-annual cleanings, diagnostic x-rays, cavity and broken teeth repair, fluoride treatments, and gum disease treatment. You can depend on us to help you maintain good oral health through your entire life. A healthy mouth means a happy smile.
Dental Sealants
Ask your dentist about dental sealants, protective plastic coatings that can be applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth where decay often starts.
Veneers need little explanation anymore with their high popularity and mainstream success in completely transforming a patients smile. These thin, custom-made, permanent tooth coverings allow us to fix discrepancies in tooth shape and color as well as completely redesign your smile esthetics. Due to the fragility of these thin restorations however, this treatment is most often preceded by treatments that improve a patients overall tooth function and control of conditions (such as decay and gum disease) that would decrease the lifetime of the veneers and your overall oral health.
Crowns
We offer a variety of materials for restoring teeth that need full coverage restorations. Crowns are often indicated when teeth are badly broken down and a filling will not properly treat the amount of decay present and/or tooth structure missing. Patients have a part in the decision process when it comes to how the final restoration will look, from gold crowns to highly cosmetic options such as full ceramic restorations. Perhaps most exciting is the introduction of our digital impression system. Currently available at our Spring Hill location, this system allows us to scan your teeth for a variety of needs. One of which is crown and bridge work. Gone are the days of the awful tasting, mouth filling, goopy impressions of the past. Say hello to comfortable and fast digital scans!
Bridges
After the Implants are placed in the bone either by our office or by a surgeon, we have a variety of different types of restorations that can be attached. When a patient is missing multiple or all of their teeth, we can create removable dentures or fixed crowns and bridges to replace them. With implants, these options become numerous and much more predictable due to the fact that restorations that were previously uncomfortably worn can be made stable and efficient. Imagine a denture that doesn’t move when you chew or a bridge to replace all of your missing teeth with crowns that stay in overnight! There are so many wonderful things that implants now offer that has completely changed our possibilities in dentistry. Ask us about our dental implant options at your next visit!
Restorative Dentistry
At Heinecke Family Dentistry, we take special interest in restorative dentistry. Our Spring Hill dentists provide all of the restorative measures to enhance your smile and make your life more comfortable. Restorative Dentistry can also play a part in enhancing the aesthetics of your smile. Some of the restorative dental services we provide include...
When a tooth’s pulp suffers trauma from decay or an accident, it often is unable to recover. This can lead to pain and infection. When this happens and there is enough tooth structure remaining, a root canal can be performed to remove the pulp and seal the root from bacteria. The fears associated with root canals are often myths, and this treatment allows you to keep your natural tooth and maintain the bone around the root. In most cases a crown is necessary to seal the tooth from bacterial reentry and rebuild the tooth structure.
Several options usually exist for a missing or multiple missing teeth. One of those options is often a removable partial denture that uses the surrounding teeth to support one or more acrylic based replacements. This allows for a less expensive and sometimes less invasive way to esthetically fill edentulous spaces.
We recently have expanded our treatment options to include implant placement in our office. Our goal in providing this service is to create a situation where more patients can conveniently have access to a highly successful, long-lasting treatment for missing teeth with a lower time, travel, and financial burden when the circumstance allows. A high percentage of implant placements can be completed without extensive grafting and complication when digital planning is used, and when they cannot be completed in this manner our office will refer to experienced surgeons for placement.
When no other options are available, we offer extractions including most wisdom teeth extractions. There are many reasons why a tooth may be deemed non-restorable: large spots of decay, lack of remaining tooth structure for a crown or filling, absess, mobility, and periodontal bone loss are just a few. We provide a relaxing environment for all of our surgical procedures, and our staff and doctors all work together to care for you. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is available for those who desire it and are medically able to receive it. When the treatment is finished, we have many options for replacing teeth, see our implant services.
One of the most exciting new developments in tooth whitening is the advent of laser tooth whitening. This amazing procedure can lighten the shade of a tooth by as many as 5 shades in as little as 20 minutes! This incredible improvement is also accompanied by very little to zero tooth sensitivity. The procedure starts by isolation of the teeth to protect the gums and lips, followed by application of the concentrated laser activated bleaching solution. The laser is then applied accurately and safely to the teeth to begin the whitening process.
