An honest mechanic is a good mechanic.this location is FAR from honest!!! The guy running our payment at monroe muffler claimed to be helping us out and gave us his 'employee discount' and he could get in trouble for not charging us the 75-80%mark up that corporate requests. (charged us $599 for the part) After we paid we established They ordered our part from the CarQuest warehouse. Car quest charges 327 and some change after taxes so we'll say $328. Idk about you but i can do math and an 80% mark up on $328 comes out to be $590 and some change. All in all we paid @$753 for the service (catalytic converter. Also after we saw that carquest delivered the part we asked the gentleman what the brand of the part was he informed us that he didn't know - if he didn't know what brand of part that he's putting onto our vehicle then how did he know the brand to charge us the outrageous price?). like I said, paying before hand BAD mistake on our part. I understand it's a business and they need to make their money as well. But that doesn't require lying to your customers. Monro Muffler will NOT be receiving any more business from my household and I will also let others know of the dishonest pricing. I've worked for autoparts stores before and know that companies such as yours get a commercial discount on parts so the part was less then our out the door price we received straight from carquest.

This place is terrible. Over the phone I was told I was getting new brakes and rotors and they gave me the price. I go in to get the work done, I paid and drove off. I talk to a mechanic later while looking at my receipt, he told me they didn't put the rotors in at all and the brakepads they bought cost $20 each. Not only did they mark up each break pad to $60 each, For my front and rear breaks to be done in 45 minutes...they charged me $466. So over $200 for 45 minutes of labor? They lie, there work sucks and they are way over priced with everything. I strongly recomend never going here. Brockport Lookout!

When I took my car to the Monroe Muffler in Brockport, NY they tried to charge me almost double the amount that it would cost for the actual repair. I was quoted at $883 for a radiator and water pump but when i called other shops I was quoted at $475 with tax! I also found out that these types of shops work on commision and will try to get money out of you wherever they can. Unfortunately I had to go back there after finding this out because they have a credit card program that I signed up for which would mean that I wouldnt have to pay the whole thing up front. They agreed to match the price once they were told that I had looked around and had found a much better price. Because I'm a woman they expected me not to do research and to do whatever they said. Then after picking up the car I soon found out that there had been no coolant replaced after they flushed the system!!!! What a mess, I'll never go back to that shop again!
