Metzler Mike DVM

Dr. Mike and staff are the very best all around people to trust your pet to. Dr mike is very friendly, takes his time to explain the situation or problems with you pet. He encourages and help to the point that you feel like he is family. As for my wife and I he is just like family. I trust him mote that some of my family. He does what needs to be done and offers the assistance needed. He will answer any question you need information on and mist likely tell you more than that if he feel the need. I highly recommend Dr Mike for all your pets needs.

What a compassionate Dr. Took our Cookie for a 'visit' - I don't know who was more nervous - Cookie (12 yr old terrier/chihuahua mix) or me. His staff is amazing - discusses everything completely - no rush - Dr. Mike is more than anyone could ever want - knowledgeable / understanding / compassionate / relaxed / So glad he was recommended to us for our girls care. Dr Mike is an excellent vet. I live 45 miles away and it was definitely worth the trip! My dog Dagan loves him. He goes out of his way to make her feel comfortable. Extremely nice and professional environment.

Dr. Mile Metzler is a great vet. Probably the best in Delaware. Cares for the animal and the owner. I would never go anywhere else.

4 paws is a great place to take reptiles too, DR mike worked with me on several reptile rescues (I had acquired when I lived in lower DE ) with theire medical issues and since I moved I actually prefer to make a special trip down to see him if I have a sick snake .

A feral cat wandered into my yard. The cat had been severely hurt by another animal with several bite marks. It was malnourished and dehydrated. I tried to find a local vet to care for it and finally, Four Paws agreed to look at it. The vet and staff were extremely kind and compassionate as they explained that the cat should be euthanized, I was not a regular patient and the cat was wild but still , they treated her well. I would not hesitate to take my own pets to this vet.

Dr. Metzler is the best! He took care of my beautiful Burmese cat from the time she was very young, until her recent death, which he helped us through in a kindly, caring way. I agree with everything the previous reviewer says about this veterinarian. He truly cares for his animals, and gives them the best possible treatment. It is true that you may have to wait awhile to be seen, but that's okay. You will get all the time needed when it's your pet's turn to see Dr. Metzler.

The owner, operater, Veterinarian of Four Paws Animal Hospial is Dr. Michael Metzler. Dr. Mike is simply the best Vet in Sussex....maybe Delaware. He is concerned for both the pet owner and the pet itself. One of the best things about Dr. Mike is that he loves his job and always greets you with a smile and a positive attitude. This veterinary clinic is a great place to go everyone is smiling and laughing they all work very well together, love animals and their jobs. This is a walk-in Veterinary Clinic, first come first served so you may have a wait. However, the saying you get what you pay for well.....lets say it is deinitely worth the wait. Dr. Mike's exams are very thorough he takes his time and NEVER rushes through. He treats each and every client as if they were family whether you are an established client or this is your first visit. He takes his time with the exam making sure to soothe and calm the animal before doing anything to your pet. While also making sure the animal is comfortable so he may examine your pet thoroughly. Your pets welfare is his number one concern. So when you are sitting in the waiting room wondering when it's going to be your turn. Remember Dr. Mike is going to show you the same consideration as the client in front of you even if it takes more than a few minutes. So next time your Best Friend needs to go to the Vet take him to Four Paws Animal Hospital and Dr. Michael Metzler!
