The UPS Store

Usually a great store. I have used it about twice now. First time was phenomenal, just a short 20-page fax of some legal documents. While i waited for the documents to finish the cashier attended to other customers in a prompt manner while I looked online for possible coupons (a practice which is advertised by their website). To my amazement a random retailmenot 15 percent off code saved me a few bucks!


This second visit yielded the same promptness, helpful attitude and professionalism until it was time for me to use the coupon code. This time the cashier who accompanied my shipping request seemed new to the position (which is fine, really). When asked about a coupon code, he rightfully looked to who I assume was a more senior employee. Now here's where I began to scratch my head: the more experienced employee acted like he had never seen a coupon code before in his retail life. Wonderful!

I expressed that I had been to this same shop before and used the same code. If you're familiar with retailmenot coupons, they have a label indicating whether or not a code still works. I showed the employee that the coupon I am trying to use (a small 15% off coupon, mind you) had been used the day prior by someone else. Again the second employee dismissed me stating that there is no way to put coupon codes like that (word+number) into the system!

If that’s the case, how was I able to use the code before, others using it, how now there is no way to use codes? Talk about incompetence. In the end, I still got my order shipped for the two-day air option in less than 15 minutes.

I travel extensively with my business. This is where The UPS Store comes in...I use different UPS Stores at least 3 times a week for my copies and next day air services. The Birmingham Location is, in my opinion, one of the most professional, friendly, educated locations that I visit. The copy machines are top notch. The store is clean and bright. The staff is equally impressive.
