University Launderette

This is the WORST laundromat in Berkeley. If you don't want to be fleeced out of your hard-earned money PLEASE don't go to this business. Many of the machines constantly don't work and if you lose your money, the company doesn'T respond to your complaints nor refunds your money. I know because I have been through this several times. The number given to leave a m message is a scam because no-one ever calls you back and the Korean lady (constantly petrified that she might get robbed) that runs a fabric repair shop and pays rent to the laundromat owner there has expressed that she is at a loss as to why so many people lose their money in the machines and can't understand why they don't respond to aggrieved customers. There are bums constantly hanging out in the laundromat looking for easy marks and targets for crime. The last time I put $3.00 in a machine that was designated as one of the few ones 'working'. When it didn't start despite the green light being on (which indicates that it is a working machine- half the machines are always covered in blue tape which indicates a defective machine), I put in another $3.00. Mind you I had already out in two separate loads in two other machines, as well as detergent, but no money. Finally I tried changing machines only to discover that the next one didn't work either and one of the other ones didn't work as well, so I lost $9.00 in total and a ton of bleach and detergent. I spent months trying to contact the owner or company representatives, leaving eight messages, none of which were returned. Finally I gave up as I couldn't even locate a corporate office for them online. This is a scam. Please don't lose your money like I did...go elsewhere.
