Sculpture Restoration and Fine Art Restoration

General Info
In 1976, when the famous sculptor, Elisabeth Gordon Chandler, N.A., started a school using the methods of The Art Students League in New York, NY, she brought in other retiring academicians from The Art Students League and The National Academy of Design to teach. She also hired the famous portrait artist, Robert Brackman, N.A. to teach painting. Robert Brackman was a world-renowned portrait artist whose formal portraits include Charles Lindbergh. Upon seeing Jeff's work during the first semester of the Academy, Mrs.Chandler offered him a full working-scholarship with stipend and housing. During the following years, Jeff studied portrait and figure painting with Brackman who used the same methods that he learned from his teacher, Robert Henri, the American Impressionist. Brackman is also listed in Jeff studied sculpture from Elisabeth Gordon Chandler, N.A., whose public works can be seen at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan; and drawing with Harold Goodwin. Jeff graduated with an excellent standing at the Academy, with marks of "Excellent" from Brackman. During his schooling, Jeff co-taught still-life classes at Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut. After graduation, he lived and worked from a loft in SOHO, New York, NY, then joined with artist friends to develop an artists' loft community in Stamford, CT, later known as The Stamford Loft Artists' Association, where he had a loft for some years. Jeff was later invited to live and work at The Bush-Holley House in Cos Cob, CT, the site of the original Impressionists artists' colony. Jeff studied the Old Masters, and painted replicas of Masterworks on commission. In 1994, Jeff was the lead-in for a ">New York Times ">article about mural painters, and he has been commissioned to paint murals from as far away as Cambridge, England. Jeff has received referrals for commissioned paintings from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, NY, and from Dr. Moffett, then the director of The Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art in Florida. Jeff's work has been accepted into numerous art shows, including at The National Academy of Design in New York, NY. His paintings and murals have been featured in ">Metropolitan Home ">Magazine; Westchester County's Living and Dining magazine; and the cover of Greenwich Magazine
