Dental Examination

X-rays
High-definition digital x-rays allow us to better share information with our patients during the treatment planning process. We provide full mouth series and bitewing series in digital format. An on-site panoramic machine allows us to assess jaw formation, tooth development, and the anatomy of the skull every 3-5 years or as needed.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer is becoming more predominant among the younger population. Risk factors like tobacco and alcohol use increase a personâ€™s risk of developing oral cancer. Bi-annual oral cancer screenings help identify areas of precancerous tissue while they are as small as possible, promising more effective treatment approaches. In addition to standard clinical cancer screenings, we also provide the advanced OralID technology, which allows us to use fluorescent light to help detect potential areas of concern in the mouth.

Teeth Cleaning
Fluoride Treatment
Topical fluoride treatments help restore essential minerals into the surface of your teeth, and discourage the development of decalcification or tooth decay. We perform fluoride treatments at every childâ€™s visit and once each year for our adult patients.

Fillings
Tooth-colored fillings blend in with your smile and keep tooth preparation to a minimum. Our office practices treatment that is primarily metal-free, but we can still provide amalgam fillings when necessary.
Veneers
Veneers are an effective way to change the way your teeth look, be it their shape, size, color, or even alignment. A veneer is a thin piece of porcelain that is bonded directly to the front of the tooth. They look and feel just like natural teeth, and are designed by Dr. Tangeman to correct the specific areas that concern you the most.
Crowns
Also called â€œthree-quarter crowns,â€ dental inlays and onlays help restore stability to teeth that are too compromised for a filling, but donâ€™t quite need a full-coverage crown. An inlay or onlay repairs the large area of tooth damage, while also preserving otherwise healthy enamel surrounding the area.

Dentures
Another tooth replacement option is a removable partial denture. A partial is an appliance that is worn and stays in place by clasping onto your existing teeth, with false teeth mounted in the necessary areas. Partials are useful when there are several missing teeth, or when other treatments are not an option.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are one of the most unique and sound ways to replace missing teeth, no matter how many there are. In addition to working with a Periodontist to have patientâ€™s dental implant needs provided for, Dr. Tangeman also performs implant restoration services.
