Hodel's Country Dining

Good food, served buffet style. Good service with friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Great for Sunday brunch, with an omelet station and a carving station.

Hodels is best for breakfast time with thier really good omlette station and waffle bar etc. However for lunch and dinner they are ok but far from amazing. The service is hit and miss depending on the waitress and how busy they are.

There's gotta be a reason this place has been in business for so many years. I've only been twice. The first time, I thought it was pretty good. The waiter was attentive, he checked on us frequently, and made sure our ice tea glasses were full. The second time though, was not so good. The tired old lady that was supposed to be our waitress, never checked on us after the inital drink delivery. We had to get up and find someone to give us napkins, and when she finally came back, it was to throw the bill on the table and leave. Good thing the food was decent. I'll try it again, for the value and the home cooked meal.

We ate at Hodel's last night for a buffet. It was absolutely one of the worst places that we have ever ate at! Don't waste your time or money eating there! The only thing that was halfway decent was the lettuce salad.. but, it was far from being a great salad bar. If you want something besides just lettuce salad and beats...forget it! I called ahead of time to find out what they were having on the buffet for dinner. They mentioned lasagna and chicken to name a few things that they were putting on the buffet. I love lasagna and was looking forward to going there. What a big mistake! I took 2 bites of everything..and placed my plate off the the side! My husband thought it was awful too and he hardly touched any of the food on his plate! They didn't flunk Ice Tea..at least it was drinkable. I would not advise eating there!!
