Family Practice
Emily Mink, APRN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner born and raised in Austin, Texas. She comes to Cardiovascular Specialists of Texas with over five years of caring for complex cardiac patients in the hospital as a registered nurse. She received, with nursing honors, her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas at Austin. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in Family Practice.
Emergency Care
When you get emergency care or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from balance billing. In these cases, you shouldn't be charged more than your plan's copayments, coinsurance and/or deductible.

Benjamin Winders, MD, offers his cardiovascular patients the latest in therapies and technology. He earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine where he served as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was honored for attaining the highest academic achievement in his class. Dr. Winders completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and a post-doctoral fellowship, cardiovascular medicine fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Paolo Venegoni, MD, earned his medical degree from the University of Milan, Milan, Italy and completed an internship and residency training in internal medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. Dr. Venegoni received fellowship training in cardiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. While completing his internal medicine internship and residency programs in Houston, TX., at the Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Venegoni also served as a clinical research assistant for the Division of Endocrinology. While completing his fellowship in Cardiology, Dr. Venegoni was a research fellow of Vascular Cell Biology for the Division of Cardiology at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. Dr. Venegoni has been with Cardiovascular Specialists of Texas since 2001.

When you get services from an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, certain providers there may be out-of-network. In these cases, the most those providers can bill you is your plan's in-network cost-sharing amount. This applies to emergency medicine, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, laboratory, neonatology, assistant surgeon, hospitalist, or intensivist services. These providers can't balance bill you and may not ask you to give up your protections not to be balance billed.

Dr. Grad is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. Dr. Grad is fully trained in general and interventional cardiology, including cardiac catheterization, CT angiography, nuclear cardiology and advanced training in peripheral artery interventions. Dr. Grad is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and the Society of Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Grad is fluent in English and Spanish.
