In order to attain this goal, we use a procedure known as Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) during the course of your surgery. IONM is a set of procedures that will monitor the functional integrity of the spinal cord and peripheral nerves during the course of the surgery. The information obtained from the IONM procedures will be communicated to your surgeon and other members of the surgical team in real time in order to provide the safest outcomes possible for your procedure. IONM has been used in orthopedic spine and neurosurgery for more than 20 years and is shown to help reduce the risk of negative surgical outcomes such as paralysis, numbness, weakness, or stroke. IONM of the spinal cord and nerve roots during spine surgery is deemed medically necessary by our surgeons and is considered the standard of care in our community.

"I first came to Dr. Jamrich and the Rocky Mountain Spine Clinic in 2014 when my NCAA sports injuries finally caught up with me at age 57. After Dr. Jamrich ordered an MRI based on my symptoms, the Spine clinic called me the next day and required me to return to the office ASAP. Dr. Jamrich saw I had 4 spinal cord compression's in my neck. Two weeks later, and under the excellent supervision off the staff, I was to follow strict pre-surgery orders that eliminated bacteria during surgery, I went in for surgery. My situation was so severe that Dr. Jamrich had to preform two surgeries two days apart from each other in order to correct my situation.
