Oh My Nappy Hair

My locs were started in February 2016 by Erica and she did them exactly the way I requested. They are flourishing and I couldn't be happier. Trusting someone to start my locs was a HUGE deal for me and I'm pleased with my decision to have Erica start them. I recommend Erica to anyone looking for a professional to care for their natural hair.

Erica has been caring for my hair for about 4 years now and I believe she does an exceptional job. I recommend her to any one looking for a hair stylist. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I think Erica has an inviting personality and overall positive attitude. She's straight forward and doesn't really hold her tongue. Some respect those characteristics and some feel offended by that. Her online appointment system is user friendly, but I would still call just to confirm.

I am extremely disgusted at the lack of customer service at this tacky salon. Erica is one rude female with the funkiest attitude. She treats people like they are an inconvenience. I went with a friend for her first appointment here. First off, she wasn't very pleasant when we arrived and made us wait about 5 minutes so she could finish her non- work related conversation on the phone. Anyway, I had a few questions about the services and thought I would ask Erica at the most opportune moments. Since no one else was there but my friend and I, you'd think we could just chat a little bit while she worked on my friend's hair. Everytime I asked a question, she would roll her eyes and give me a round about answer. She never made eye contact with me and even turned her back to me. My friend was even offended by her. She told her how she wanted her hair and provided a picture as well. She said Erica made her feel foolish for wanting that style and convinced her to get something else. She did not like her hair at all and had me take it down for her the next day. $100 down the drain and 2 customers lost!!! We will never EVER come back or recommend this place to anyone.

I found this place on a website...I was a little skeptical about going their after reading the reviews on line, but since I work downtown, I decided to visit the place along with a friend of mine. They seemed okay; not overly friendly, but also not rude. After leaving, I decided to make an appt. I told her what type of color I wanted and she asked that I come back down to pick out the actual color so they would have it at the time of my appt (this was Monday). On Wednesday, I received a phone call asking if I could come in earlier for my appt, I explained that I really couldn't but I could try. I even offered to reschedule the appt. My appt was for Noon and they wanted me to come in at 9am. She told me to keep my appt time. The day of the appt they blew up my phone calling regarding the appt time. I told her I thought we had handle the issue with the time, again I offered to change the appt., but they said no come in as scheduled. As I thought about it, I canceled the appt. if it starts off bad, it will probably not get better. I figure I would like to have some type of rapport with the person doing my hair. Anything could happen...mohawk; orange hair...you just never know.
