  • Horrible
    by  on 07/02/2011

We arrived for a matinee, first show of the day, and the theater employees didn't even show up for work until five minutes after the movie was supposed to start. Inside the lobby, movie posters had fallen off the walls and were just lying on the floor. I paid $4.25 for a small soda. The theater itself was very damp and reeked of mold. They ran TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES of previews and commercials before the move started, and many of the previews were not at all age-appropriate for the audience. To top it all off, there was a pile of fecal matter in the bathroom, not in the toilet. I'm not going back there.

  • Catch a Flick and Grab a Beer
    by  on 03/16/2010

Falling somewhere in between the small theatre atmosphere and technology of the 24 theatre behemoths, Midtown Art Cinema is a wonderful place for midtowners to catch a flick. First run shows are reliably present, while occasional art films or hard-to-find limited releases can also be found. The concession stand knows how to please its clientele, offering not-too-expensive beers and wine by the bottle - something that the big theaters just can't sell. While the screens aren't massive and the chairs aren't reclining, massaging, or turning into loveseats, Midtown Art still has plenty of comfort and charm, generally devoid of unpleasant movie-goers anyway.

  • AWESOME Local theater
    by  on 11/02/2009

I hate looking for parking but this place is worth it. Best date in Atlanta is to hit Apre Diem and then hit a movie at Midtown Art Cinema or the reverse!

  • Best colorist in town
    by  on 04/23/2008

A great Hair Studio, great location. Great cutters, and the best colorists in town. I saw David for hilites, and he was very personable, and Saed for a cut, and my hair was flawless. And my mother even liked it!

  • FINALLY. A WHOLE STAFF OF COMPETENT STYLISTS.
    by  on 10/11/2007

I used to be a client of Key Lime Pie (BOO.), and upon hearing a rumor that Eric had moved here, I decided to pop in. Not only did I find him, but I found a casual, comfortable atmosphere, complete with an ENTIRE STAFF of highly trained and talented stylists! (unlike Key Lime Pie) Due to Eric's booked schedule, I asked Ayisha for a trim... Just to see... She was so friendly, and she did a fantastic job. (unlike Key Lime Pie) It's amazing how some stylists think a trim = 6 inches off. Not these guys. David, the owner, has cultivated a great cozy space with unoffensive music levels, and parking is easy. (unlike Key Lime Pie) I have been back many times, and honestly, it doesn't even matter who does your hair. It's guaranteed to be great! Customer service is top notch also.

  • ugly salon
    by  on 06/21/2007

I've been a client of Morgans for many years- he does a fabulous job on my color and my husbands haircuts. He was at this salon for a short time and Im glad he left! It is a very unhappy salon, it is old, dirty and out-of-date. The ceiling is filty! Not what I expect at all from a intown salon. I only went there because of him! Dont go there, follow Morgan to Icon Salon on West Peachtree!

  • Still better than Atlantic Station
    by  on 04/21/2007

It is better than Atlantic Station because you dont have to pay to park, and you dont have to walk through a scene of tourist....\r \r Plus Apres Diam is next door for food and wine. And it makes it a good night.
