My Son brought us here for our Birthday dinner. We were greeted well by our waiter. The food was superb! The steaks were seasoned just right, hot and juicy. That was the Best of Times. However, the decibel level of the crowd was so LOUD, no one could hear to even talk. We literally had to shout at our small table to be heard! Horrible ambient! This was the Worst of Times. I will NEVER bring anyone here that I would want to spend a relaxing evening in meal and conversation with, IT WON""T HAPPEN HERE! Once was enough for me!

I've been to hundreds of nice restaurants in and out of the United States and Hal's is by far my favorite. We just discovered it a couple months back and I went back for my birthday. The filet migon is out of this world! Everybody at our table ordered somethign different and all said theirs was delicious! Uncle Steve is the coolest host and he makes everybody feel at home and welcome. In addition to all that they add the extra touch of complimentary valet parking to make this a top class dining experience!

While the food was tasty and our waiter great, overall I score it an underwhelming two stars. Although I made reservations in advance and clearly stated the reason for our patronage as a birthday celebration, we were initially sat in a cold corner (beside French doors in 30 degree weather) with a black wall across from us. When I asked the hostess to please relocate us, she countered ""but isn't this Romantic?"" We were moved to a two person table shoved against a brick wall, at which point I realized even with reservations you can't expect a good table at Hal's. They cram as many tables as possible into the snug dining room yet still expect you to pay ""fine dining"" prices. While the food was quite good, it is comparable to Houston's where I've never been crammed into a corner like Baby on Dirty Dancing. Upon trying to leave, the valet lost our ticket and we waited in the cold for 30 minutes until I finally complained again and was finally serviced. Morale of the experience, complaining is the only way to get good service at Hal's. It's way overpriced for the experience. I will not go back.

The perfect place to go with a date to impress for with the most professional staff,perfectly prepared food,truely on fancy place as a must stop steak resturant and piano bar.Being from Phila.-if i visit Alanta on my next trip-Hals is my first stop to prefection.it's a place to go to feel like they know you everytime.Totally my favorite choice and beleive me I am very picky when it comes to food.

Hal's never disappoints. The service is always perfect, the waitstaff is professional yet friendly, and the steaks are AMAZING! Everything is always perfectly prepared.\r \r The bone in Filet is not on the menu but is almost always offered as a special, and it is absolutely wonderful. I've even heard rave reviews of the fish, although anyone who goes to Hal's and doesn't have a steak is crazy. The price is good for the quality, and the live jazz/blues at the piano bar is always great and at the perfect volume so that it is a background but doesn't inhibit conversation. One of my favourite restaurants ever.

First time at Hal's although I have been a resident of the area for 30 years. I sat at the bar ordered a blackened filet medium rare. The order took much longer than expected. The steak came out pale and cold. I told the bartender that the steak wasn't blackened. She proceeded to argue with me and pointed to a couple of small spots on the steak that were dark. She also explained to me that the steak was seasoned. I was really interested in an enjoyable dinner out and wasn't in the mood to argue. Nonetheless, she brought me out a new steak that was medium well, not what I ordered but it was edible.\r \r The atmosphere seemed dated. The upstairs dining area was a little dingy with old carpet smell. There was an outdoor patio that looked nice. \r \r Overall the experience was disappointing. I spoke to a close friend shortly after who had a similar experience and of course we shared stories.\r \r

Had an amazing bone-in ribeye...the only problem was that i asked that it be cooked medium and it was definitely medium-well/almost well done. No pink whatsoever. Other than that the meal was perfection! Great crab appetizer and wonderful burbant potatoes!

Have been to Mortons, Capital Grill, Rathbuns Steaks - Hal's is hands down ... without question the best steak I have ever had.
