A one eighty switch in weather change brought Dr. Altman to his dental residency in Florida where he splits his time today. Extensive training in dental techniques, dental radiographic interpretation, oral surgery, as well as anesthesia, and pain management compliment his high level of care and compassion. Communication with his clients is incredibly important to him, giving his patients’ parents his cell phone number as needed.

Animal Hospital East is a premier animal hospital specializing in general medicine, surgery, and dental procedures for pets in east Asheville, North Carolina. For those of you familiar with Asheville we are located 1/4 mile east of the VA Medical Center on Tunnel Rd. Our staff is very friendly, helpful, and loves working with animals. Small Animal Surgery
Dr. Margaret Kuhn has raised three children and maintained expertise in small animal surgery. She is also involved in the management of both of her hospitals. Margaret is an accomplished ballet dancer and holds a Master’s degree from Duke University. While at Duke, she completed extensive coursework in animal ethics and wrote her thesis on the animal-human relationship.

Dental Radiology
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly – above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals, caps and braces. We also provide digital dental x-ray technology when needed to evaluate the best course of treatment.
