Overall

Horrible experience. Not a bad place to go to shop, but a horrible place to go if you need anything repaired. I had 3 of my helicopters sent off to Johnson city. 2 to be trimmed out and 1 to have some very minor repairs done. I was told it would for sure only be a week before I got them back. It has now been 10 weeks (no joke) and haven't heard a word about them. I call every week to ask if they're done and they always tell me next week and then I am told by management "we have your number so we'll call you when we find something out". I've been told this many times and they are yet to call me back. What a joke. A simple job that if I was to know what I was doing as they do, it would be done in 20-30 minutes. this business is run by amatures and I will never step foot in that store again once I finally get my helis back, if that ever happens. Take my advise and just go somewhere else.

Overall
great customer service

I have bought 4 trucks and a lot of parts for an old truck I already had. They were very helpful with me and all the questions I asked. They were not pushy about what I got or anything. They make a suggestion of what they would use or get and thats what any good shop should do. Seeing how they see all the crash after math and know what parts work better or last longer. So all I have to say is outstanding guys. Keep it up.

This is the BEST place to get started in RC aircraft in the WNC area, PERIOD!!! Since Carolina Arts & Crafts left, we've needed a decent hobby shop, particularly for RC. I just found out about Hobbytown around six months ago. Two of the guys at the RC counter are tops for customer service, particularly the RC younger RC plane guy, Bob. They are willing to help out plenty for new planes, parts and accessories, even on planes I didn't buy there! I've also seen them work with other novice flyers, and they ork hard to get you the RIGHT stuff, not the most expensive- they are about growing the hobby and making people happy, not just making sales. I can't help but reiterate, BEST RC aircraft customer service in the area. Do your RC spending at Hobbytown!

Overall

Poorly run store, management is a joke. Sales person reeked of pot, was clueless.

Store does not support the local RC interests.

Cashier at front was rude, very opinionated about his own interests, and not at all helpful. Wish the store would go broke and let someone else make a valid attempt to support the local hobbyists.

First things first, you got to...

First things first, you got to Pay to Play!!! Half of our " Hobby" is Building and Fixing our planes, trains, and automobiles. I make multiple trips to this store a week. I have made several large purchases and tons of smalls! Prices are very reasonable compared to other local shops that have come and gone. The Guys are always super friendly and willing to help. I even had a weekend issue, and was helped off site by one of the techs! What else to say other than these guys run a great Business. Thanks to Both Bob's, Patrick, C.J., T.J. and Cory!

I have shopped this store and ...

I have shopped this store and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The prices are good compared to online and the selection is the best in the area. I think for the new store that they are, it is a great Local hobby shop. The "kid" that works there has to put up with a lot. I was there one time when a customer wanted to return two small items that he bought somewhere else in Florida, not even a hobbytown, and wanted to exchange them for something he needed. The young manager said he couldn't take them back and believe it or not the guy got ANGRY at him. What a J.A. that guy was. Anyhow, I recommend going there and trying them out.

Overall
Lousy customer service

I'd hoped that we finally got a decent hobby store in town but I was wrong. The place appears to be run by a teenage brat who could careless about customer service. Hopefully whoever is really in charge will fix this mistake and put somebody in charge who knows what they are doing. If you happen to catch one of the older guys, they are pretty knowledgeable, but I've walked out twice now because this twirp is on a power trip. This stuff is all way cheaper online so maybe I'll just browse the store and then go home and order online.
