Dental CareOur mission is to provide the best medical and surgical care to our patients. We strive to maintain an atmosphere of caring, compassion and community within our clinic, and require our doctors and staff to stay current in veterinary medicine and its advances. We pride ourselves on our ability to work as a team to prevent and relieve pain and sickness, to restore health, and to foster the bond between a family and their pets. We maintain a hospital facility that has the most modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment so that we can offer the best in medical, surgical, diagnostic, preventative, and dental care.
Lab and X-Rays
Laboratory ServicesWe strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.
X-RayAnimal Hospital South has a new, most technologically advanced, digital radiograph machine for your pet’s advanced imaging care. This allows a decreased time your pet needs to be positioned for x-rays thus creating a more favorable hospital experience. It also creates the ability to send the picture by internet easily, thus allowing for expediency to specialist opinions if necessary. In keeping with our commitment as a green hospital, digital radiography eliminates the chemicals used in traditional developing. Everyone with a camera understands this difference!
Dental RadiologyRegular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet’s teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly – above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals, caps and braces. We also provide digital dental x-ray technology when needed to evaluate the best course of treatment.
MicrochippingJoin us on September 28th from 1-5pm in Carrier Park for Mix 96.5′s Dog Day Afternoon! We will be hosting the first aid tent for pets and people, and will be microchipping dogs throughout the day. This is Asheville’s only dog friendly city festival and features a huge adopt-a-thon, cool pet tricks and contests, local music and entertainment, and of course local food and beer. Most importantly, it’s a day to celebrate our best friends while supporting Brother Wolf and the Asheville Humane Society. Look for our booth and come by to say hello with your furry friends!
