Word of warning first off, if you charge your bar order w/no tip (I prefer to give cash tips) you'll get the extra charge anyway. When we called Peggy's about the difference in charge, we were told that the bar tenders can write in their own tip. WTF???? First off, they aren't really worthy of any tip as they are too busy socializing w/each other rather than taking care of patrons. Secondly, the place all around sucks. Food is mediocre at best, it's way too loud, seating sucks and it's way over priced to boot. There are plenty of other places to go.

The food is just ok and the prices are very high for what you get, they get you for 4.50 for a bottle of Coors Light, the bands that play are just ok as well, The staff is nice, and that is what Peggys has going for it,Bring a pocketfull of money for a night out at this place.

Derek imported every bit of the place, which mostly makes for uncomfortable furniture. The food ranges from authentic Irish fare to silly names for more American choices, but all are done well. Nice atmosphere, always good & friendly service.

- General Info
- Here in Chicago, there are plenty of well-known Irish establishments. They range from corporate-owned chains in the city to family-run enterprises in neighborhoods both downtown and the surrounding communities. Their rating on the authenticity scale covers the range from phony (neon shamrocks) to genuine (red-heads on both sides of the bar). Perhaps none truly embodies the true spirit of Ireland more than a relative newcomer, Peggy Kinnane’s Irish Restaurant and Pub in Arlington Heights. Operated by Owner and General Manager Derek Hanley, Peggy Kinnane’s, has become an absolute cornerstone in the revitalization of the downtown area in northwest suburban Arlington Heights. What makes Peggy’s so unique is the fact that virtually every piece of the structure came directly from Ireland. The interior consists mainly of original Irish stone from County Clare. All of the woodwork, including the bars themselves, were constructed and shipped directly from Ireland.
