I had an Italian dish consisting of sausage and pasta. I think perhaps a quarter of a sausage was in the dish, quite disappointing. The sauce was good and so was the pasta but who screws up pasta? Place was expensive compared to others with Italian dishes. The folks with me had steaks and said they were very good. It was Friday night and the place was nearly empty. Maybe others are as disappointed with David's as was I.

Sept. 20th. We've had lunch at David's Bistro for the past six weeks. The food is consistently good and the service excellent. We would like to acknowledge your excellent servers. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who might like an upscale atmosphere and moderately priced menu.

Had a gift certificate for a variety of restaurants and I chose to try David’s Bistro. I am so glad I did. Our server gave us great recommendations. We started with a crisp glass of wine. The house salad was amazing with a great balsamic vinaigrette. The main course was a mouthwatering Parmesan Crusted Grouper served over a bed of risotto bathed in basil cream sauce. The veggies were seasoned perfectly with a dash of sea salt. To top it all off, we enjoyed the Chocolate Oooooze Cake (aptly named) with a delicious cup of coffee. Atmosphere was cozy and romantic. We’ll definitely be back.

We've been here several times and this is consistent. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Lake County. The service and atmosphere are excellent, but even more so it's the menu that brings us back again and again. Great food!

Loved this place. I went for dinner with my boyfriend. The place was cute and quiet. The waitress was very nice and the drinks were very good! The food was delicious and fresh. Very romantic and my new favorite place to eat!

My boyfriend took me to David's Bistro for my birthday. We got the spinach parmesan artichoke dip. It was delicious. The homemade chips were tasty without the dip, too. My boyfriend ordered a tasty white wine and I had a Bacardi & Coke (perfectly mixed.) Next came his French onion soup. He loved it. I had the salad with Balsamic vinaigrette. The lettuce was not iceberg; it was the good stuff! My boyfriend ordered the Stuffed Bistro Chicken. He allowed me to try it and I must say - yum! I had the London Broil, which was very tasty. I would definitely try it again. Both of our meals included the "mashed" potatoes. They were divine. Not your typical mashed potatoes. The broccoli and cauliflower were fresh and cooked to perfection. We will be coming back again for sure.

Our favorite waitress, is one of the many reasons we go to this restaurant, but the food is fantastic. We hope the restaurant remains open as a top notch place for all to enjoy as we do. Good luck to all who work there and to the folks who enjoy it so much.

Still one of the top 2 restaurants in the Antioch area. Being a foodie, I'll always give a new restaurant a try. David's stays near the top of my list. I particularly enjoy the fact David comes out into the dining area to ensure all meals are prepared properly. He takes a genuine interest to the success of his restaurant. Definitely recommend.

General Info
WELCOME TO DAVID'S BISTROMy name is David Maish. I am a trained chef and I love to cook great food. Several years ago, I realized that Antioch, Illinois needed a special place a gathering place for dear friends; a meeting location for business associates to have an important meeting or a peaceful, favorite spot where a couple can say nice things to one another. I wanted to create a special place for great people like you.I spent weeks wondering what I should name my place. All the good French names were taken. Then I thought about The Un-fast Food Restaurant that isnt Part of a Food Chain with a 20 Page Menu Where Everything tastes the same. The sign painter quit. Then my wife said, Why not call it Davids Bistro? I married a genius!Davids Bistro is casual, friendly, fun and kind of serious all at the same time. Serious, doesnt mean stuffy! Serious means that my passion is food. I write about food, I teach cooking classes, I absolutely love to cook for my guests. Oh sure, every so often Ill break out in a song, show you one of my paintings or crack a dumb joke, but I can get absolutely teary-eyed over an heirloom tomato, a beautiful cut of meat or a spectacular piece of chocolate.Davids Bistro is about all of the good things in life.
