House of Chicken & Ribs

Great food for a reasonable price, but for a long time I have been tolerating a older short hair slender black gentlemen (I think he maybe the owner) scolding tone of voice when I have to ask him or tell him something in the ordering process, and I finally decided I had enough. So I had to write this review. I won't be needing their ribs anymore to go with the angry feeling I have when I m eating their food ..the rest of the crew are very polite..the food is good is why I had put up with him. I won't stoop as far as him to have to say something negative back. I had decided I ll just have to quit going there if I feel I really have to say something back at him, and so now that day has come. Believe me I m plenty capable of going off on someone if I feel their a jerk towards me.

Best BBQ anywhere in the world as far as I'm concerned. Let me state that again, the best BBQ anywhere in the world. Sides are very good also. I like all kinds of food, I've eaten in a lot of places, had all kinds of food and this place rates as number 1. Owners are genuinely hospitable and friendly. And they work hard! They are there from sun up to sun down. You can tell they genuinely just enjoy making people happy with their food. The Service is quick and the price may seem a little spendy at first, yeah for second rate food, but for this qualify and the portions, you can't get a better deal. Try eating downtown, see what that will cost you. Do yourself a big favor and go to the House of Chicken and Ribs. Tell your friends, bring your friends, got out of town guests? Give them a treat, bring them to the house of chicken and ribs. No, I don't work there, I live in Atelope and I just like to turn people on to good things and this place is a gem in Antelope.

I'm thinking the previous reviews were written when the restaurant was under previous management. The previous-previous management has returned, and this restaurant is back to it's former glory. The meat is spectacular, whether it's ribs, chicken, catfish, or tantalizingly spicy sausage. The sides are pure soul-food heaven. This place is run by people who obviously know BBQ. It's a great place to eat - unless you're on a diet!!

I had higher expectations when I stepped foot into this restaurant but was slightly dissapointed with the service here. I think next time will be a better experience so that is why I am giving this place a 4 star. The food was still pretty good and the menu still big.

Not the best, and far from the worst. It has great potential, and in time I am sure we'll be able to add one more "star". Awesome BBQ sauce. I will be back for some more on a regular basis.
