This was my second year to travel to Alaska and the first time to rent an RV from Clippership RV. I will say that I was hesitant after reading reviews from other people. What I took into consideration was the complaints they had written, many which seemed minor for anyone who has owned an RV themselves. I took a chance on Clippership RV and they did not fail. This business offers RV'S from several years old to new. If you want to pay less, then rent an older unit but if you want a newer nicer RV, then you have to spend some money! My experience was great. I rented the 30' Thor, which was new with low mileage. The unit was ready when promised, completely stocked (at no exaggerated rental fees), clean, and everything worked. The girls in the office were very friendly and helpful and bent over backwards to give us any extra blankets and towels, again without any extra fees. There were minor cleaning issues but then again...it's an RV, not the Hilton. We rented three ice chest, four chairs, three fishing poles/tackle and a grill and it was only an extra $73 for the entire week,! Other places I rented from wanted that amount per day! As for comparison this was a BIG RV, not a van cab, and it was $550.00 cheaper than the other company I used. I STRONGLY urge you to pay the $30 a day insurance for windshield chips because I am 2 for 2 on rocks hitting the windshield!! I don't write many reviews but felt compelled to do so here because those who are thinking about renting an RV should not expect a hotel, afterall you are going to the Alaskan wilderness where you are not the top of the food chain;) Have fun

Renting and RV from Clippership Motorhome Rentals in Anchorage was for us a very positive experience. For us Europeans a vacation to Alaska is often a once in a lifetime dream, and a bad experience with your RV can make or break your vacation. The cost of the RV is probably also the biggest single cost factor of the vacation. We were out a bit late, and others did not have any suitable homes available any more. The communications prior to renting was very positive and professional, and we did not really have any unanswered questions once we decided to rent the RV. At pickup the RV size we had booked was for some reason not available, but we got one a couple of foot bigger instead. Needless to say at no extra charge. This actually turned out to be a very positive thing, because the additional space was very nice to have on the inevitable rainy days you do get in Alaska. If you do get a bigger RV make sure you inform the ferry companies if you have pre booked tickets based on a particular vehicle size. They are very strict, and if your vehicle is bigger than booked you might not get on the ferry, something that the person instructing us about the RV claimed did not matter. This is the only "negative" experience we have had with Clippership. It obviously also increases the ferry costs. The RV was spotless when we received it, and upon requesting more blankets and bed linen we were promptly given additional sets. We had absolutely no problems with the RV during our stay. We drove about 2700 miles around Alaska and Yukon in 3 weeks in July 2014, and the only mishap was a faulty water hose for the water connection to city water. Having called Clippership we were told to buy one and keep the receipt. When we returned the RV it was checked by Clippership and everything was found in good order, and we were informed that we would receive the refund for the hose together with the deposit. When we had returned to Europe the deposit USD 500 that we paid was returned to the credit card, as was the cost of the hose we bought. All in all a very positive experience and we would definitely use Clippership again if we are lucky enough to return to wonderful Alaska at some time.

Our experience with Clippership was excellent from the beginning. Not only do they have good customer service, but their prices are much less than that of their competitors. And they don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. So for travelers on a budget (like us), Clippership was the perfect option. We rented the smallest camper available, and it was ready for us when we arrived. They took us through and explained where everything was. Less than an hour after arriving, we were on the road. Our Alaskan adventure included 4 nights in Denali National Park. On our first night we noticed that the furnace wasn't functioning as normal, and the refrigerator indicated low battery. After a very cold night, I called Clippership the next morning and was immediately connected with their mechanic (Sergei). He patiently guided me through what to check. After 20 minutes he told me there was a problem with the battery and he would have to send someone out to help us. He gave me his cell number and told me someone would be out to help us. We went about our day and when we came back, the RV still wasn't fixed. Now, this was over Memorial Weekend. We forgot traffic would be bad out of Anchorage, and Denali is about a 4 hour drive. Finally Les from Clippership showed up with 2 brand new batteries. He was apologetic about the long delay and got right to work. In no time at all, Les installed the batteries. He checked the generator to make sure all was well. Then he gave me his personal cell number and told me to call him if there were additional problems. What could have ended up as a disastrous and uncomfortable vacation was fixed with great customer service with the assistance of Sergei and Les. Their patience and attention to detail made our trip in a Clippership RV very memorable. Thanks Clippership! Sergei and Les deserve some serious kudos for jobs well done.

My name is John Giunta and my wife rented a 23 ft RV from CLIPPERSHIP last June of this year. Our experience was outstanding from the time we arrived at the airport and they picked us up within 15 min. We did the paperwork, went over the RV and answered all the questions, spent as much time as needed with us. We did send a ups package ahead and it was ready for us at the camper. We pup 2200 miles on in 15 day. Had a great time. We just might do this again next year with CLIPPERSHIP. we did get our deposit back within 10 days. ALASKA in a beautiful state to visit and no problem with driving. From WISCONSIN thank you

We had a good experience renting from Clippership. Our RV was not the one we had requested, but we got a bigger and newer RV for the same price! The RV was ready when promised, ran great, and was in good condition inside. We were both experienced RV'ers, so the walk through was quick and easy for us, but if it was as fast as ours was, it might be a bit overwhelming for someone new to RV'ing or someone who did not speak Engligh as their first language. Customer service was OK, although there were discrepancies between the manual they give you with the motorhome and the contract we received, such as drop off time, that should be resolved to prevent any misunderstandings. Also, knowing how much we acquired during the trip (chairs, hatchet, toilet paper, etc.) and left behind with the motorhome, it seems that these items should be included with the rental, rather than an extra cost. Overall, ours was a good experience, and we would consider Clippership for a fture Alaska trip.

Despite their very competitive prices, my husband and I were not convinced of renting from Clippership after reading a few bad reviews. Before booking we called them with a bunch of questions and they were very responsive and reassuring. They informed us about our options, as well as pros and cons of each, to help us decide on the right vehicle for our family. We rented an RV for 10 days and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful explaining how to use the RV. We didn't have any issues with the vehicle and upon return, just had to wait a few minutes to return and inspect our vehicle. We received our $500 deposit after about 2 weeks, no problem. We would rent from Clippership again!

I don't have enough words to express my disgust for this place. If you have no other option -go rent a car. You will have a much better customer experience, vehicle, and vacation than what these inconsiderate people, with their broke down RV's, care to provide.
Within the first 48hrs of having the motorhome it started breaking down and lost power on the highway. I found a turn off and called Clippership and they refused to do anything to help us. We sat on the phone being transferred between at least 4 different employees, all of whom had no idea what they were doing and had the worst customer service skills I have ever experienced. At this point, sitting on the side of the highway, I also noticed that the registration tags on the RV had expired! I mentioned this to one of the employees and said that I was driving illegally and the employee rudely scolded me for taking the RV off their lot with expired tabs. He then put me on the phone with someone else and proceeded to call me an a**hole in the background. I was eventually put on the phone with the owner who refused to do anything to help me until the unit was completely dead on the side of the road.
This was just the beginning of our 5 day rental and trip across Alaska. There was a large pocket of water in the bedroom wallpaper that bubbled up in the window frame when touched. The bedframe was broken. The check engine light was on the entire trip (flashing occasionally). There was extensive body/cosmetic damage all the way around the entire motorhome. The RV had a horrible rattle and shake when running that just got worse throughout our trip, and the retractable step outside the door was missing when I picked it up.
As of right now this has been a $1,250+ five day nightmare that still hasn't been resolved three weeks later. I highly discourage anyone from renting from this company. Spend the extra money and rent from a more reputable company who actually cares about and takes care of their customers and equipment.

Family of 9 took their great RV!
Service was Amazing, they gave extra blankets, chairs tables, all what you need without any hesitations, since it was our first time with a RV, they explained everything in detail and also over the phone when we were in Denali, having troubles turning on the heater. family owned business. highly recommended!
If I go back to AK for an RV, it'll surely be them! We were very comfortable with them. they cleaned up the toilet couple of times, since we spent one night at their RV location!
Give more business to Family owned companies guys! Economy will prosper only then!

Our experience with Clippership Motorhome Rental was excellent. They picked us up at the airport upon arrival and took us to the Hilton downtown when we returned the vehicle. The office staff and the courtesy van drivers could not have been more helpful and nice. Lee and all of the office staff went out of their way to assure that we were satisfied. The vehicle performed perfectly and our deposit was returned to our credit card within 2 weeks. This was the first time we rented a motorhome and WE would definitely return to Clippership for a future RV rental in Alaska.

We rented a RV for week an it went off without a hitch. Alaska was beautiful. The staff was great and very helpful with all our needs. It did take some time getting checked in, it as in most traveling situations, like waiting at the airport, but the staff made our wait comfortable and enjoyable. Clippership staff picked us up from the airport and we drove to the rental place. There were quite a few people already checking in when we got there so we had to wait. All in all the experience was enjoyable and we are looking forward to next trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the state of Alaska and all the views. i would recommend this place for anyone looking to rent an RV

The only positive feedback I have about clippership is about a gentleman by the name of Salem. Everyone else at the company and in the office is terrible and have no personalities. I had rented a 21 foot RV 2017 had 4K miles on it when we picked it up. Ourfirst pit stop we used the sink and noticed Water leaking out the back of the RV from the grey Water pipe. I noticed a large hole in the pipe which no rock or debree could have possibly done. I hadn't back the RV up at all so I definitely didnt hit anything. I notified clippership right away to make them aware and let them know I'd be coming back through anchorage in 2 days if they would fix it and be ready for us. I emailed pictures and again called the morning of letting them know what time we would arrive. I had the extra $21 a day insurance on the RV thinking something simple like a pvc pipe would be covered. Long story short, they weren't ready for us when we arrived and the mechanic took all of 5 minutes to fix the pipe and they charged us $100. If I had known that I would have gone to a plumbing store and got the pipe, fittings, plumbing glue and fixed it myself. The office staff was nasty and made the poor guy Salem be the mediator because they were cowards and wouldn't tell me to my face. I wish they told me I was being charged befor doing the work.

If you do chose to rent from here I highly recommend asking to speak to SALEM and deal with him. He's very professional and curtious. He's an Outstanding young man. I just hope he realizes his worth and leaves clipper ship. Don't bother talking to anyone else because they ar all duds and have no personalities or any knowledge of there polices or vehicles.

We ran into many people in our travels and all that had rented from clippership currently or in the past. Each person had nothing but negative things to say. They are a shady company and have no concern for customer service or building relationships with customers. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!

We just returned from Alaska after 16 days. I read every review from every company I could. All had good and bad. So we took a chance on Clippership. And it paid off. Every thing was just as they said. From the shuttle to and from the hotel the pick up time of the RV. No HASSLE at all. I waited to write the review to see if my deposit was returned as stated. And sure enough it was. 5 STARS all the way. Thanks for making our trip great. Jessie and Martha from Georgia say thanks.

To start, I'm a bit surprised that for the volume of business that this company does that there are only 8 reviews. On both the day we picked up and the day we dropped off, business was booming for them with RVs coming in and out. I don't doubt any of the reviews on here, positive or negative, but I'd say there definitely aren't enough total reviews for this to be a representative sampling. This company should really encourage more of their customers to write reviews. That being said, I'll share my experience (which was overall very good).

We rented at the last minute in late August and found Clippership because it was one of the only places that had an RV available. Immediately, we were pretty sure we were getting the last remaining crappy RV in all of Alaska. The booking process was pretty easy - my girlfriend handled that part. I'm pretty sure she called Clippership a dozen times to ask various questions (it was our first RV experience) and they were always pleasant in answering her questions. Ashley in particular was very helpful.

When we landed at the airport, it was about a 20 minute wait to get the free shuttle. The driver was friendly and informative. When we got to the rental lot, there was some minor confusion as they thought we weren't arriving until later in the day. We were afraid this would cause a multi-hour delay for us, but wasn't a problem - they had our RV ready for us fairly soon after arrival. We met Ashley in person, and she was very honest with us about what we needed and didn't need to add as extra packages. We never felt like we got an upsell.

The RV itself was in good shape internally and externally. It was definitely an "older" model, but everything was in working order. They gave us a quick orientation, after which we probably still looked pretty confused. So they gave us another one and made sure we felt fully comfortable before heading out. Our first trip was to the nearby Walmart to stock up on supplies, and then we drove back to the RV lot to spend the night there and get acclimated before starting our full adventure the next morning.

Throughout the trip the RV handled just fine - I think we used every system at least once (generator, fridge, stove, A/C, heater, bathroom, etc.) and it worked just fine. When filled the propane at a gas station before returning the RV. When we got back to the lot, we still needed some time to pack our things and fully vacate the vehicle, and the staff was very accommodating. Then the shuttle dropped us off at a local hotel so we could finish the remainder of our vacation.

After the vacation, it definitely took a full 10 days to get the $500 deposit back, which seems a bit long, but they state exactly that at the beginning of the rental so I can't really complain. Based on our experience, I would definitely recommend Clippership and use them again. 5 stars for a smooth process throughout and an RV that worked exactly as expected.

We just returned from Alaska after 16 days. Before going I read all reviews I could find. The good and bad on all companies. I settled on Clippership Rentals. I could not have been more pleased with everything. We are average working people so we can't afford to be ripped off. And EVERY thing was just as they said. The shuttle to and from our hotel also the RV was ready at the planned pick up time. No hassles at all. I waited to write the review to see if my deposit was returned on time. And yes to was. We are one happy couple with our experience with Clippership. 5star all the way.

I rented a motorhome on June 17, 2014. After I paid, I asked if I could add an extra night and was told that it wasn't booked so it would be fine. I drove about five miles down the road to a store. Upon leaving the store the Check Engine light and the Oil light both came on so I returned to the office. No one was there, I called every number they gave me and no one answered the phone. My daughter and I had to spend the night in their parking lot. I had to cancel my plans for the next day, a fishing trip that I had already paid $500 for, and lost my payment for my fishing trip. The next day I was told that the lights come on and everything was fine. I asked for two things, first, a refund of the night my eleven year old daughter and I had to stay in the parking lot and secondly, I asked to cancel the extra day I had added. I was told that it was no problem because, according to their 'board' I was due to return the vehicle on Saturday and not Sunday so the extra night had not been added. Also, I was told that the night we spent in the parking lot would be refunded because I could not drive the vehicle with the engine and oil lights on before having it checked out. The $500 I was out for fishing was obviously not refundable. The company is refusing to refund these nights to me, they only will refund my deposit and nothing more. Prior to the trip, I had to leave a $500 deposit with them via my credit card and they will only refund that amount. I asked repeatedly and was told each time that I need not worry because two nights would be refunded to me.

Alaska was amazing but Clippership is horrible. We had arranged for a pickup at 6 am in the morning at Seaward as we were arriving by HA cruise but the vehicle did not reach there by 5 pm ! Their employee Lee with whom we had arranged for a pick up committed that the vehicle would be there at 6 and even gave us her personal contact no. just in case there was some problem but apparently this was just in her brain and she had not informed anybody about the required drop off. I had paid $444 for the dropoff but this is the kind of service they offer and on top of it she lied to us telling us that there was an unexpected mechanical failure with the vehicle but in reality nobody knew about the drop off and we were told this by the technician who came to drop of the vehicle. Secondly she sent us the incomplete documents for the rental and she conveniently forgot to send us document that specified the time of drop off. Thirdly when reported to manager she very shamelessly denied the fact that I had ever made such a request and that she had ever committed it to us. Even the owner is incredible mean and arrogant, the Lady looks down upon customers and talks rashly to them the son atleast listens to the customer. The worst thing was the RV the gave us had a compartment door completely damaged but while checking out the vehicle at Seaward we had missid it because it was so late and we (6 people) were so frustrated and mad; and later during the time of drop off Clippership slapped the blame on me, when I had 100% not been the cause for it because it was not a small scratch or something that I could have stayed unaware of it, it was a pretty significant thing. Clippership kept the entire $500 deposit for repair of it, can you believe it. Long story short, don't rent with them they SUCK !

My husband and I just returned...

My husband and I just returned from a week long vacation in Alaska. I could not be any more pleased with our rental experience. The staff was warm, friendly, and accommodating. They promptly picked us up at the airport upon our arrival. Once at the business the staff helped us get all of our paperwork taken care of, inspect the vehicle, and give us a step by step guide to our home away from home. No problems the entire trip, no waiting (not quite sure what other people were talking about), and I will recommend this business to everyone I know.
